only managed to hit 112 km/h... kinda disappointing

I just came back from malacca, did 110+ max. I thought the assy should give better result.

Former rides:

HONDA SP (FP4733L) - CAGIVA MITO (FS7923U) - GILERA RUNNER (FS6524U) - HONDA SHADOW (FP5522Y) - HONDA PCX (FBF3971Y) - HONDA CB400 VTEC 1 (FS2994Y) - YAMAHA FZ1S (FBA5057A) - HONDA CBR400RR-R (FQ6676A)

Bro, you should have a separate fuse for the air horn, coz the default fuse rating is also for other circuit components and up the rating will loss the protection. 10A is 120W and if it still blow, better check the rating of the horn.

Hi Bro, thanks for the advice, noted. Will talk to my mechanic. thanks

Bros, 110km/h for a 125cc is very good lor. PCX is belt drive, it is very easy to slip at higher speed, so there is always a limit to the high end speed.

BTW, max speed at long distance can be very damaging to the bike, advisable to warm-down when reached the destination, or else may cause piston jammed. Prolonged high speed also can cause the bike to have burn valves and timing chain problem, bike will start to have more vibration than normal at idle and harder to start engine when cold.

Just to share, the 150cc PCX is in production, whether or not (and when) BS will bring it in will be interesting, the 25cc more should bring the top speed to 125 or 130km/h I guess. :thumb:

Can we get a free upgrade to 150 CC block? ^^

Who is going to give you free upgrade?

But I suppose it is possible to upgrade ourselves when the spare parts are available, provided Honda don't change the engine design (unlikely).

or we could apply to swap the entire engine block?

what's the chances of this with LTA?

The usual method is change the cylinder block, piston/rings and top block, it may or not have difficulty like the tension of the timing chain, etc, to some extend, it is workable as up the block size is quite common.

On the other hand, this is NOT allowed by LTA, so just have to do it at your own risk, anyway 25cc is rather insignificant even during inspection, as long as just behaving like a good boy, they usually don't bother.

I will prefer a clean method, sell the 125 and buy a 150, in fact the price for PCX125 is dropping after the announcement of the 150cc, local still not that significant as not sure BS when to move (or not), but once BS confirm bringing it, the 125 will be less expensive (new or used) to own, but bad news for current owners. Most bikeshops now taking in used PCX at $500-$800 lower than 3 months back, coz many are waiting.

They say shaving the lip of your driveface gives you about 1-4 mph more in the top speed on other forums... anyone game enough to try?

I have bought and installed the J Costa variator at AC Motor. 1st time there. Pretty impressed with the hospitality. Nice guy.

Pricing is about there. I can't remember exactly.

Performance wise, quite honestly, pretty mild. Don't expect a "turbo" boost. FC has improved a little. I'm happy with the purchase though.

Ouch... $280 + $30 installation...
