Hi, thanks for your reply.

I change my engine oil every 5k km or so. I read some posts here and there and I'm suspecting damaged piston too. Not sure where I got it from though. Maybe I can get my clutch and rear brake checked too. Any shops to recommend?

I do hope it's the battery problem. I haven't ride with idle-stop since I got my battery changed. It's quite scary when you're in a jam and the bike dies off. I just recalled that there's this time when I was squeezing between cars and it sort of died momentarily (wasn't on idle-stop mode). It came back to life when I gave it another twist. I realise when it dies, it's during when I closed and opened throttle. Can't think of anything that may have caused it. Wiring somewhere?

Hey bro u can try send your clutch for service. Very likely is your clutch that is slipping which cause the jerky feeling upon moving off.

Is very common for all cvt scooters.

Dont worry for ur piston, it wont worn out so easily unless you have not been changing ur engine oil or using insufficent amount of engine oil.

As the clutch shoes has accumulate a certain amount of dust which mainly came from the belt and hence it cant really grip or engage to your clutch bell well which eventually causes ur bike to jerk till a certain speed which then it begins to engage.

A simple cleaning & sanding of the clutch shoes will eliminate the problem will occuring.

I will recommend you AC motor that is located a 10 Kaki Bukit Rd 2, First east centre #03-02. Boss is Ah Choong who is honest and offers reasonable price for all sort of servicing and he is someone who is very experience with all sort of bikes, especially scooter.

I always have a piece of mind when i send my silverwing to him :thumb:

Perhaps you can try mixing some injector cleaner with ur fuel to see whether it helps to regain ur good fc?

As it helps to eliminate those built up carbons in ur engine and injector which enables your bike to run smoother and better fuel efficient.

Stp injector cleaner is always my prefered choice. "The blk bottle". There are some more popular brands like Liquid Moly, green oil eg.

Stp injector cleaners can be easily found in ntuc, giant, petrol stations and more.

thanks... but I just did that like 2 months ago...

Also, another symptom I'm feeling is a loss of power... my PCX can do 120km/h but these few weeks suddenly drop to 105...

I'm thinking...

1) clean my air filter as my mushroom head a little bit dirty already...

2) open up the transmission and check belt for worn belt (highly unlikely as I've done only 6000km on this belt), check clutch (could be an issue 'cos it's not stock) or check rollers (I don't know the lifespan for Dr Pulley sliding rollers but i've done 6000km on these too)...

Note to PCX bros and siss...

If your fuel economy ever drops below 33 km/L (or somewhere around that range, please refer to my above mentioned problem)... it's time to change your belt....

I was riding on the AYE yesterday morning and the belt decided to catastrophically snap on me... so i coasted to the shoulder and called a tow truck to tow my PCX to my workshop... since I was working, I called up my mechanic in the late afternoon and to my horror... he told me that the clutch pulley was all scratched and stuff...

Can't really see the damage as I couldn't go to the shop yesterday... shall see it on tuesday and assess the damage...

earlier this year... used this belt for 6000km only...

That's pretty fast worn off.

Did you check or physcially see whether the belt installed previously was a orginal honda belt or it was a oem belt?

U can also get those honda original spare parts from Fjt or everfit motor who are the authorised part dealer.. Their price should be cheaper than boon siew.

I got my silverwing clutch shoes, uclip, belt, rollers, idirium spark plug all from them.

I went to see the damage... funny thing is that the belt wasn't frayed or anything... it just disintegrated into bits and pieces like a jig saw puzzle... O.o

and that damage also came with a chipped sliding rollers... and also destroyed a rubber connector for the one of the clutch clamps.

replaced the rubber connector as I had a spare ready, replaced the rollers with my previous set... changed new belt... zam si tong until my Malossi variator, malossi clutch and chameleon works torque driver comes in this week or next week...
