I use Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water repellent for outdoor fabric to rejunvenate my raincoat. Been using raincoat for 3yrs+. Still no leaks. Usually when start leaking, let the rain coat dry, spray on, let it dry and it will last for the whole raining season.

My Arai Raincoat start to smell at the arm area wen i wear them...

Can i wash it with normal fabric detergent and soak it clean? Will it make my raincoat spoilt?

Well mine will be mouldy,so i guess must really dry under the sun or be really dry.

I bought my arai rain coat from HKL a few months back, wore it less than 5 times.

The pants centre part will be wet, only on big weather storms.

Going to view knox shop at jurong west later to get a rain pants most likely.

My arai top is too big for me too.

Just to share i have used many different type of raincoats,Rs tachi,Arai,Saf Camo and etc.

I went down a few days back with my friend, indeed very friendly and knowledgeable for his son.

The Knox armour protection is indeed a state of the art for gloves.

For the raincoat, the good thing was there was straps for the top which i have seen for the first time.

Its more comfortable than the Arain Version, almost similar to the Rs tachi but much thicker

They are to prevent your raincoat from flapping,so that water wouldnt seep in that easily.

The waterproofing will last longer too.

The good thing is you can buy the pants and top separately which is terrific.Just replaced whichever worn out first.Just like tyres.

I strongly recommend this set of raincoat, you can buy the armours too when you want.

Cause the pockets are in it already, just need to insert them only.

I am no friends of theirs. It based on a motorcyclist who have rode for 11yrs

I just bought Taichi Rainmaster for $145 from Kaki Bukit last month. First time trying, so decided to go for the cheapest one instead of the 2 other Rainmaster X model going at $210 discounted. Tried 2 solid down pour so far, dame good!!! Only minor adjustment needed is that if you are wearing long sleeves to work, fold up the cuff 1-2 fold is necessary.

Now that I have the set, upon closer examination, here's what I found:

- It appears that the jacket material has some kind of chemical coating and I notice some spot is not perfect (i.e. minor patchy area where coating not even). NP, lucky I did but the $210ones.

- Jacket very breathable, can even feel the chill wind hitting my chest when riding and best of all, inside still 100% dry.

- The rain pants is not made of breathable material, can feel slight warm sometimes but no biggie. So far, putting on the whole suit does not get my body baking inside. Sheltered carparks can be warm because of the heat from cars (not the fault of the suit), once you are out in the rain, cool as cucumber.

- The key towards a waterproof jacket is in the front zipper (biggest culprit in seeping water). Taichi has a double velkro flap over the zipper, a real winner! I compared and trial tested with a normal waterproof sports and discovered this cause.

- The jacket neck velkro is quite comfortable, even at 95% tight (not strangling myself), no water sips in!

Was told that after about 2 years, water tightness may drop and it's end of life of the jacket. I'm taking good care of it, so let's see how long mine last....got a friend having it for > 2 years and still counting on this good boy each time it pours!

My u-techn raincoat set (from the jurong west knox shop) started to leak alr. Granted it was quite affordable (i tink abt 90 per set) its 2 yrs lifespan was quite worth it. Pants start to leak and so did some parts of the sleeves.

So was interested in RS taichi but its wayyy too ex. So i searched online and found the Frogg Toggs brand in USA. Very popular outdoor wear. And they have a few made for motorcycling.

Took the plunge and ordered a set of Road Toad. Ard $90+ total with shipping.

Got it and amazed with the material. Its like paper! Very soft and thin! And its texture is exactly like those kitchen paper towel. Rained so i tested it.

Its so comfy! I bought a size too big but it doesnt flap so much and makes getting into it quickly (duuhhh!) a breeze! arrived after a heavy shower and totally dry and not feeling warm and sticky like all the other raincoats i hv tried. Also have a hood so u can wear it underneath d helmet so that water dont drip down behind.

Only issue i find is the collar doesnt hv a velcro so if wear open face, suspect water can drip in (i wear FF so no issue). Also, the pants have side pocket entry. Just undo a clip button and u can access ur pockets inside. Not a smart design! My pockets felt a little damp actly, but maybe could be because mine was too big la.

All in all, worth it so far. Now is just a matter of its lifespan. Some riders in USA hv used theirs over 3-4 years then start to leak. Highly recommended!
