Hi Guys, I just installed a steelmate 2 way alarm on my 05R1. Everything is ok except the remote ignition engine start which i would never plan to use and connect it. scared my ECU fry

Now the functions available on the alarm/bike are:

1) Arm and disarm with chirp sound or silent mode. Both with Signal light flashing.

2) Shock sensor which will sound off the alarm for abt 10sec.

3) If in arm mode, the key in put in and turn on, the alarm will sound off like mad.

4) Search bike function allow bike to chirp 8 times with signal flashing when pressed.

5) The remote is a 4 button LED display.

The alarm only cost me $160. And another $20 installation. Total $180. $200 cheaper than steelmate alarm selling at motoworld and $120 cheaper then xiaogary's one. his got so much more function then mine. I not so rich, can save must save.

to proof that the alarm really works must find an expert in stealing bikes to try steal it in 60 secs..so y not bring the one armed with it to m'sia an leave it there overnight..?

they don't work by their name "sliders" they just break the fall of ur bike when ur bike drops unexpectedly..i personally encountered it before liao..the entire piece will just go bald eventually or worse chipped off with the screw still stuck inside..the "sliders" are not for protecting the frame or fairing when ur bike slides on its side..it's just there to break the fall..but don't know why the name..compendre..:thumb:

my bike did drop a few times with the new sliders..both sides too..as for what you are referring to for the bike to "buang" and slide, think all the "sliders" for all models are the same lo..motovation or not..still will go 'botak' and probably chipped off..unless you got a new type of "sliders" that you think it's worth "buanging" a bike just to test it..then there's no point to try it..
