i wouldnt complain much... i like the tail, and tat FAT ass can must go. :) it could looks better in person i think... let see when it hit dealers here

Right on bro. Dunno about the rest of you but with after market pipes and plate holders, I think the bike looks pretty sweet.

I am more intrested to listen to the exhaust note with the different piston firing interval. Might just sound a little like the M1 :thumb:.

:p

:slapforehead:

This 09 better be one heck of a performer....

U hit it right on the head. That's the first thing that struck my mind when I saw the new R1. It looks like an angry Wall-E.

Hear lotsa good things about it. Crossplane crankshaft (I initially thought they did it Big Bang style)... Engine Map... Gear indicator.... slipper clutch.... the works.

Now only a ride test can prove whether it's all just hype... or a hit. ;)

A closer look.... at the headlight.

Wonder what the headlight protector kits are gonna look like for the bike. Or maybe we can take an existing R1 protector and saw it off halfway through....

All of 09's new tech sounds impressive in theory, esp the crossplane crankshaft.

If it all works as well in practice, it'll be one helluva bike :thumb:

So who's placed their order already? :D

RACEshield is able to withstand up to 100 deg celcius of usage. OEM lamp assemblies/casing does not produce up to that temperature (else, your hand will be scalded when you touch your lamps).

If it was HID (gas discharge), the temperature output on the assembly casing is even lower than those produced by filament (heat based filament) bulbs.

Hope the above clarifies some inquiries. :thumb:

as from the pics, the projector lights are protuding without any form of protection, as in a plastic cover, like all previous bike have...

unless some1 planning to use raceshield on the headlight itself which i dont know the shiled can withstand the heat or not...

but its a nice looking design... just have to wait and see when it comes to our shore..

Thank You.

Regards,

AR2 Performance

The Xplane crankshaft connects all the four pistons at 90 degrees intervals (unlike current engines, which connects the conrods to the crankshaft at 180 degrees).

So instead of going big-bang and changing the firing order to improve traction, they retained the firing order (offset it a bit, but still 4 pulses), but connected the individual piston/conrods at an even interval onto the crankshaft. So it's 4 little bangs at evenly spaced intervals. End result, smooth, even, power delivery.,

Brilliant idea, actually. :D

I don't think it will improve torque significantly.... a little perhaps, but it will smoothen out the power delivery for sure. The bore is larger and the stroke is shorter than previous years.

LOL. Tempting. Really tempting. Only if I get my grubby little paws on extra cash would I consider this baby. :p

Hmmm.... :p

I wouldn't mind had the 09 R1 looks like the 09 FZ6R. Under engine exhaust like what the initial R1 rumours posted on the Internet... :lovestruck:
