With regards to those crash protector that the market is offering now, they don't really offer 100% guarantee crash protection. Like what Honam had mentioned, it really depends on the impact during the crash. Even if 10 riders using the same crash protector, they will experience difference damage.

I do not think those company actually make use of an actual bike to test their product. It make no ecomomical sense at all. They have to replicate different kind/type of crash and with so many bike models just to sell you a price of ranging from $50 to over $200 item. If they really do that, they will not be selling you at the current price range.

Instead they mostly design their item based on logic. Like for example, slider shouldn't be too long, material used should be last the abrasion from sliding on the ground etc..

So to me, as long it is cheap, I'll just grab it. After all it just to buy a sense of security. Just my thought.

Bought your cbr1000 08-09..?

Right-ho... in a way, sliders cannot guarantee that you can have maximum protection, but rather it does help to minimise the damage :p

Anyway, main frame sliders mean to absorb the impact and some of the damage in the event of a fall and allows the bike to slow down from further damages.

by the way, does it feel like the bike is difficult to crank start?

Yes, it's diff to crank start now, i suspect the battery is dying..what's the norm for the volt-meter before cranking and at idling..? is it 14Volts and 12Volts respectively..? now it has drop 2 Volts and has diff in cranking..? even the bike response is slower then usual..Oh no..

btw, how much will a new battery costs..? anyone has any recommendation..?
