yamaha suffers at low end due to the 5 valve/cylinder Genesis legacy.

For 07, they re-designed the engine back to 4 valve/cylinder. Low end torque is up significantly although HP is up by 5/9(ram air) only. This will sure give the suzuki a run for their money. :thumb:

yes i do agree with u on this point.

But over the years, yamaha has been on suzuki's hitlist for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Personally i rode my friend's k2 before, tried my 01 R1 with K1, K2 and K3 to feel and compare the difference in performance and handling and was very amazed by suzuki's engineers for their design and effort. I have even witnessed the midrange of suzuki's pull over yamaha even with the 02/03 LED taillight version, to the current 04 to 06 version.

Yes, yamaha created history in 1998 when they first launched the "ultraman R1". But suzuki remake history again when they launched the K1 till K6 and it has been the world's best performance and best selling bike till now.

Therefore with this conclusion, my guess is that suzuki will continue to target yamaha, sepecially on his 50th anniversary

What say u

Yo fellow gixxers!

Can anyone tell me the exact effect of installing a TRE pls? I riding K1 1000. Also, all TREs the same right? Use for older 600-1000 or newer K6 also same?

Tks!

The effect of installing of a tre, is just a device to trick your ECU, that you are in always 5th gear, which is a non-restirct gear, allowing you with extra 500rpm in the 1st-4th gear. You will feel your bike with lesser engine brake. some say smoother ride.

And if you got auto choke, you auto choke will not function also.

For the TRE, G1 and busa use the same. The 750 and 600 using other different resistor TRE. On the market there are alot of TRE ,as it a simple device if you know. The much better TRE are from Ivan. Which say to give different resistor to different gearing.

And also the G-pack same as a TRE which also give different resistor to different gearing. If you install a TRE on a new suzuki such as k5/6 1000 or k6/6 600, 750, the gear indicate will not function properly, it will show a "5th' gear position once you enage into any gear. And it natural will be showing "0"

G-pack will show your are on "4th" gear position.

As for older model, i know currently all the 1000 TRE are useable from k1-k6.

But my friend riding a k6 750 is having some problem with it home made AH MU TRE which he use for his k5 600. he is finding a correct resistor.

TRE can be as cheap as home made $20 to ivan TRE which cost over $190 and the most expensive G-pack which cost more than $200 for some model.

i am using a TRE made by fuel motor from the US that cost about $60 plus shipping.

unfortunately, i can boldly state tat none of us here on an R1 can beat tat "doctor" on a Rxz  therefore, common folks like us can only seek comfort in knowing tat our bikes r the best amongst its class.

btw, i meant total revamp as in styling, not specifications

I riding 750 leh. since when I downgrade to 600 again?? The correct resistor to use for 600 and 750 is 15kOhms which will show 6th gear instead.
