Tried it before, but doesn't work. But like I mentioned I did TEKA before, so I do not know if this will affect anything or not. So if you could actually change first and try PC tuing with the stock ECU setting controlling the sec FI. And then we can narrow down the problem

But i just dun understand , how come the 1000 dun face this problem, even though it almost the same design concept. :giddy:

Yamaha safety recalls

Yamaha has issued a press release announcing safety recalls for models including the XV1600 Wild Star, R1, FZ6, FJR1300, TDM900, MT-01, XV1700 and XT660R/X.

The release is reproduced in full below, and all owners of affected machines will be contacted by Yamaha to advise them of the steps needed to rectify their machines.

"As part of Yamaha’s policy of constantly monitoring the quality and performance of its products, the factory has instigated 2 Product Safety Recalls.

The first of these Safety Recalls has identified a potential defect in the gearbox of certain XV1600 Wild Star models. In extreme cases, this defect could result in the transmission locking with possible loss of control by the rider. As our Customers’ safety is of paramount importance, riders are advised to stop using their machines until they have been modified by an Authorised Yamaha Dealer.

XV1600 owners on our database will receive a letter very soon advising them of the steps to take to have their machines rectified.

The second Safety Recall concerns the Throttle Position Sensor fitted to certain YZF-R1, FZ6N/S, FJR1300/A, TDM900/A, MT-01, XV1700PC & XT660R/X manufactured between 2002 and 2005. In a small number of cases, the idle speed may become intermittently unstable, causing the engine to stall.

In the same way as the XV1600 Safety Recall, owners of the affected machines, held on our database, will receive a letter very soon advising them of the steps to take to have their machines rectified. They can continue to use their motorcycles in the meantime.

On behalf of the Yamaha Factory and Yamaha Motor UK, we would like to apologise to all affected customers for this inconvenience and assure them of our best attention to rectify the problems at the earliest possible time."

Race railz Was browsing Gixxer.com and came across this product. Dunno if you guys ever saw it or not. Its more for those ppl playing stunt. But I think they make a race version for those ppl going track. Look more solid than having just the slider alone. The best part is that it include the slider as well. Should have bought this instead of the normal slider. Maybe for my next bike.

hi kinwei, i m trying DIY a switchable, plug and play TRE for GSXR600 K1 (pardon my super old bike) using 15K ohm resistor... bought 18 gauge wires but i dun intend to cut my stock wires...

Saw on a overseas website that can use another pair of stock male/female connectors to avoid cutting the stock wires, but cant find the stock connectors in sg...

Called both KS and GH, both say stock connectors only come if buy whole wire harness(~S$700), tried sim lim tower also dun have...

Any other solutions that i can try?

Yeah, the stock connector got sell seperately thru an british website, but bloody expensive. I found a solution without cutting the original cable. But would require you to unplug the pin out from the stock connector first. I dunno how to show it to you now. but if you're interested to know, we can meet up and I'll show you how. Basically it just making use of those standard pin (not connector) that can be bought at Sim Lim Tower. When you unplug those pin out of the stock connector. Basically you can connect those bought pin and connect to the stock pin. And then use those heat shrink wrap to seal it. When you want to remove the TRE, you still can plug back all those stock pin back into your stock connector and connect it back. Simple.
