hi guys, i know its not the best place to post this, but hope u guys can help =)

what do you guys think of the R1 offer at sgbikes for 8K here?

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....howtopic=140244

im considering it, but havent view yet.

anything i should particularly look out for in an 01 R1? 90k+ km is quite high, a little worried about the maintenance side of things- CDI, rectifier, piston rings, pulse coils, starter coil, cone bearings etc

hope u guys can give some comments! thanks alot!

I would suggest u look for rotors wear as the mileage was high the rotors might be very thin and even need replacements. IF they look very thin I suggest u look elsewhere as they cost alot to replace about 1k.

The engine listen to abnormal sound, as the valves clearance might be needed as well as the timing chain.$300-500

Look for sign of abuse, whether the bike look symmetrical, and the paint work as well. Look for uneven color across the fairing.

Then the chains, spockets, tires and brake pads, if they needed replacement soon, request the owner change if u want the bike, or reduce the price for the above items....happy viewing...

Galfer wave rotors are not cheap....

If u purchase one front set might cost more than 1k....I think 'L" asked before is about $600+ for R1 04 one rotor only??

Older model are cheaper, I got a friend riding 929 got his front set for less than $700 braking wave rotors...

Bit I have read an articles regarding wave rotors, even they more trailing and leading edges that improved brake biting and feedback but have you all even wonder why motor GP doesnt use them.....??But I forgot the reason...IF you dont have the dough then get OEM is just as good.....
