hachi: Maxxis Supermaxx at S$290 including installation and balancing. Bikelab carries them. 1122 Serangoon Road.

shaunz: It's considered hard compound. Street riding and occasional trackdays are okay. Medium compound tires will wear way too fast on the streets.

Maybe you can refer to the past few pages. I have input my review during my 3 months usage with Maxxis Supermaxx.

if only u say say earlier.. i changed my tyre not long ago leh... :sian:

From my understanding, the carcass is very soft. So perhaps on the streets it might handle abit sluggish if your tire pressure isn't hard enough.

Racetec is one of the best dry track tires in the rain. I've rode them on a full wet circuit before. No complains.

does anyone have any ideal which wiring diagram should i look at , for the k4 600 in the service manual. As the are 2 diagram where 1 is for ( E-02,19 ) the other is ( E-03,24,28,33 )?

Think should be (E-02, 19). Cause this diagram is with position light while the other is without. Our K4/5 is with position light thus should be this diagram.

I find the supermaxx tire interesting, the timing clocked at PG is

pretty impressive with tire @ this great price...as mentioned by Espy...

Btw are we talking about daily riding with this tire? If everyday we ride

for 40km and it still last for 10months without compromising on traction..

it's really a good bargain!!

Tire thread plays a big part in draining away water , as water becomes a gap

between rubber and tarmac .. reduce contact/traction ... the water will be

guided into the thread and disperse it away ... the front tire will do the job first,

leaving a 'dryer' patch for the rear tire to travel on ... dry track tire(not slicks) basically have least and shallow thread ... very minimum water dispersal effect ...

Wet race tire have many many water dispersing thread , therefore dry grip

not as good as dry race tire.

Read from article in magazine about it years ago, dun know if it's correct ... but it sounds

logical..

LATEST UPDATES FROM THE SINGAPORE TRAFFIC POLICE DIVISION

Be extremely careful when riding or driving on Singapore roads

When booked, one pays offensive fines!

Price increase without further notice.

Exceeding 61km/h = >$200 + 24 demerit points + Court.

If one wishes to fight the court case oneself, and loses, one pays the court charges oneself, which will be added up to the original fine. Believe the court charges is at least $200 and above.

As for the Demerit Point system:

Let's say you have 0 points on 1st January 2005, and you committed the offence of say, 'Failing to Put on Seat Belt'. So now, you will have 3 demerit points and this will last for 1 Year.

If during this 1 year you have no demerit points offence at all, your 3 demerit points will be gone on 1/1/2006. But, if during this one year, from 1/1/2005 - 1/1/2006, you committed another offence with demerit points, your very first offence will be extended for another year until 1/1/2007.

From Woodlands to Changi, I think it's about 40km. Let's discount it to 30km. To and fro would be 60km.

5day work week, would means 300km per week. Not including trips up north.

A year on the same tires sounds like alot of mileage. Grip remains consistent as told by my friend on his R1.
