Ive been riding my ybr for over a year,and it always give this problem whereby battery always drained..(cannot horn,electric start,dimmed headlight ,signal inidicator..etc..

 

Therfore i replace my rectifier and battery together and its fine..but after like 2 mths,it happened again..This is not the first time i replace both my rectifier and battery..Even changed my magnetic coil once coz cant even start bike..

 

What could be the problem?Could it be cdi?

 

Could be. There is nothing else to replace already what besides those 2...

Check your wiring.. Usually the fault lies in the headlight they use.. Ybr cannot and will never be able to use 65w headlight bulb.. This will drain your battery badly.. It can only use 35w.. If possible, convert your 1157 tail light to 1157 led..

Do you know where to and how to convert this to LED? My tail light and my meter light always blow every few months. Damn irritating. I use the exact same ones as recommended in the service and parts manual. Still blow.

Still blow cos most t10,t5 bulbs in sg are cheapos from china.. Where can you find philips t10?? All t10 and t5 led will have problems.. Led tail light u can find in sim lim tower.. 1157 led is a direct fit into the socket.. Means plug and play.. No need mod anything..

So that is actually the same bulb, using the same socket only thing is that instead of using filament, it uses LED?

Exactly.. The lesser current your bike needs, the longer your rectifier and battery will last..

any idea how i can gain higher speed without having to full throttle?

 

all i wan is to be able to hit 100km/hr without full throttling.. cause it feels like the bike is gonna explode when i full throttle...

Sounds like carb issue.. My ybr easily hit 120km/h stock even with pillion..

I mod the exhaust bro, Cut open removed a number of plates and stuff fibre in it.. Finally put a long straight preforated tube or silencer in it.. The exhaust tip remains the same to give you the low end power.. The straight through silencer give you the top end.. No jetting has been done. Airfilter modded with foam filter for easy washing.. No other mods.. Went inspection once only with the exhaust.. Passed... Sold the bike before i could test the second inspection. Did the same to my rvf.. Passed one inspection.. It can be considered street legal since i pass the inspection..

Bro, i dont believe ybr max speed 100 only.. Try wash your carb.. I ride a few ybr liao, stock top around 120.. By the way, whats your rpm at 100??

rpm around 8 k plus or 9 k for 100 km/hr and its full throttle... k i will have my carb washed and see how it goes.

To add to this, there are different grades of the magnetic coil. My spare parts uncles showed me the 3 different types. Like the 'local', 'original' and 'original updated'. I also dunno how to say. You see you will know. The BEST one that he got that comes in a BOX with plastic is around $80. The rest comes in those cheapo plastic but very funny, got original yamaha sticker with parts number and all the works. Haha.

 

Also, they told me to watch out for the engine oil. Unlike the RXK to RXZ, this bike the magnetic coil is submerged in the engine oil. So when the oil gets hot, the coil also gets hot, which in turn leads to the premature breakdown of the coil.

 

Bro, i dont believe ybr max speed 100 only..

 

My YBR max speed straight road is about there. 100 to 105. Been like this for years. When i first got it, it could reach 110km/h. But now i am about 100 plus kg, plus my overloaded box and i only get 100km/h.

 

Add pillion, also max speed is 100km/h, only difference is that it takes almost 2 mins to reach 100km/h. If not pillion about 50 seconds, casual gear change, full throttle. But if i remember correctly, this started to happen after i changed to the DID chain and hodaka sprockets. Not the original. Pickup improved a teeny tiny bit, but top speed reduced by 10km/h.

I cannot seem to pump air in my front tire. This problem started months ago. The nearest Shell petrol station pump near my house suddenly cannot pump air into my front tire. But my back tire can, no problem. But i tried other shell petrol station, still can pump air into my front tire.

 

Then a few months later, today, i tried another shell petrol station air pump near my place as well, but this time, the front tire cannot pump as well! Back tire still can.

 

Then when i go home and check the nozzle for the air on my wheel, its okay. Perfectly fine. I can let air out, no worries. Compare with the back tire, the "needle" also the same height as the rear tire. Any ideas? Both petrol stations, use same pump designs, even to the metal rod to stick in the tire valve nozzle.

Oh. Means that the rubber is blocking the air pump rod thing from fully entering the hole? What does this happen and how come you know this? Happens to YBR only or other bikes as well?

Any bike with china valve.. And its prone to leaks as well.. Its better to invest on better valves..

Bro, cannot leh... I try to sand the bottom part after the valve, below the thread. First ah, got no rubber there. Its like metal, then after that, the rubber. So i sanded off part of the metal itself. Still no effect.

 

The thing is that when i put the shell station air pump nozzle into my front tire air valve, the system never automatically pump air into my tire and equalise the pressure then you hear the bells. However, when i press the "flat tire" button, i can hear it pump air into my tire, then equalise the pressure, then stop pumping, no bells. Its like super weird. Both my tire valves look indentical. Same height, the pin inside where you press down for the air to go inside or out also the same height.

 

Any other ideas?

The pump must first take pressure from your tyre before it can pump.. Usually the case is there something stopping it from being fully insert.. Try pushing it harder.. Sure can one..

Stress la sia. I push and push the thing also don't wanna pump. Weird...
