YBR batt need to top water?

I distinctly remember my YBR came with sealed battery, because I didn't need to top up the water. Take a look at the battery to see if it's wet or sealed.

Note: I should have used sealed instead of dry.

I've changed my battery 3 times in 3 years. One year seems an awful short time for a battery. How long does your battery last?

Mine is a $30-35 dry battery.

you changed at which shop?

normally a good battery can last 2 to 3 years.

check ur rectifier or alternator.

maybe faulty, overcharing/undercharging or fry your battery.

How much does a good battery cost? Mine must be among the cheapest? I did ask for a good one, was quoted $100+++, so I decided not to get it.

Rectifier has been changed before. Was spoilt once. Alternator is working as I have measured the battery voltage when the engine is on. Measures 14.x volts.

Hi all,

Anybody riding YBR, had just bought one, wanted to know how much engine oil is needed when changing the engine oil. And also the correct tire pressure for it. What type of engine oil should be used and how long can it be used till the next change. And also sparkplug. And also what are the maintenance servicing i should be going for. Pls advise. Many many thanks.

Hi its 1 L engine oil. any good 15/40 can do. I'm thinking better not put too high viscosity oil as there is no oil filter , just a mesh that is very hard to open & clean (need to go mechanic). Chg oil is every 3,000km, or more maybe 3,300 if you dont ride everyday.

Tyre pressure i use 26 front, 27 rear. Cos i use low profile tyres cannot be too hard hehe. Spark plug use the best you can afford !

I paid 2.7K plus $140 for repairs shortly later, for 3 yrs ole modified YBR. Very high, yes. I shall not name the shop that ate my carrot

Acordingly with the forumer above, I believe its yr changed Rectifier maybe something is not match with the specs ...

Alos beware the Alternator / Magcoil 'spoil' rumour for this bike, some ppl have come across already , or is it the shops also capitalising on it.

Does good grade oil gives you significant performance difference for small bikes like this?

Yes.use fully synthetic. There much shear strength and protective vicosity even when warm.It is due to the hydrocarbon arrangement which is very uniform. It does not 'sand down' your engine.

SAE 10W40 is less viscous.Your gear change is light but snap sound is heard.

SAE 15W40 or 15W50 are more viscous.Due to the weight(e.g 15W).Your gear change requires slightly more effort but not drastic. It is smoothe and appears to be seamless

Hello guys, just got YBR recently.

Unfortunately something happened to the spark plug cap (i think) and its now unable to start.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3182/3084070771_1e42ce3e2e.jpg?v=0

As u can see that's the discrepency i noticed... Think fell out or broke due to wear and tear (At least i like to think so). I got no idea what happened to that portion of the engine but the spark plug's exposed.

Pls advice, is it some spare part that i can fix myself or need to bring down to shop?

*edit* Problem solved.. Some mother XYZ stole my plug cap... just replaced it.

Hello guys, reviving this thread for abit.. Noticed my YBR has a "jerking back motion" when i open throttle to 6k + RPM at high speeds. Suspect is my chain getting looser? Any advice? Could it be something else causing this?
