Lol! I guess the best is really to suit up properly, get proper protective equipment and ride safely.. And the rainy weather nowadays.. sigh.

Actualli hor.....I think suiting up does not prevent fractures. Except for the kneecaps & ankles. These are hardier joints to take your weight. Wrists, elbows, shoulders joints are harder to seriously pad and prevent dislocations/fractures.

Eh.. Can lah.. Wear airbag jacket.. :) can potentially save u from multiple thoracic (chest) spinal fracture.. Some higher end ones have excellent padding.. Years ago, my wotk place did a seminar on trauma.. Its the safest method known besides stopping riding altogether...

At times, i feel kind of fearful when riding.. Especially during peak hours.. My god.. The amount of vehicles and the furious lane changing.. Can get heart attack..

Thats pretty correct. But no 2 crashes are alike. I broke the wrist at the track, in a highside, and that was the only injury I had. Suiting up helps in preventing the road rash, and the joints like knees and elbows usually have hard armor that dissipates the energy in a crash. That might not completely stop an injury but it will lessen the impact.

Unfortunately I dont take my own advice and never suit up on the road - only the track. On longer rides in Malaysia I'll usually wear just a jacket, and thats more for wind protection than anything!

Airbag jackets sound like a lot of hot air ... have a look at Knox body armour at: http://www.knox-armour.co.uk/.

Their back protector is highly rated and might go a long way to lessen those spinal injuries.

Spend more time riding and you wont find the traffic all that scary. There's is a rhythm and all you have to do is follow the ebb and flow.

Both of my major accidents with serious issues and fractures....my riding jacket was in the boxes.
