Please beware of a car rental name of Alan phone 84997793. He does not provide company name and claims to be commercial (sometimes Private). Actively seen in GumTree classified. Only deals with 50 deposit to reserve the car via POSB 038-38361-2. Never picked-up phone and only communicates via sms. Collection at Tampines Mall and during last minute, would want you to send out all outstanding.

 

Please make a police report immediately if you are one of the victim. Please pass this information around. As the figure of cheating is not large hence police may not interfere but if there are pool/chain of victims. Police will upgrade the case.

This chap is really a dare devil which I would relate him as. He does have good background in knowing the scam figure is low and most victim would never even want to report the case.

I usually go to http://www.adrivecarrental.com.sg It may not be worthwhile finding smethg cheaper by $10-20 per day and get into this fraud. I feel safer gg to an established and proper one.

Im afraid not to p-platers as their insurance do not cover, so do many other rental companies. It is understood that p-platers' accident rate and claims are way too high, thats y. (Actually i'm not p-plate too but not sure how to change my status, I've been here for years though.)

Agree, also do check the car before you actually move off. Once rented a car from those 50/day ads in classifieds, a mitsubishi lancer manual, when picking up the vehicle, they MUST accompany you to inspect the vehicle.

 

I checked the vehicle the rear bumper mid quite badly dented, as in reversed into a lamp post kind of damage. But was okay with it, noted it down, and checked again. Then I mentioned the rear license plate a bit shaky, the sales person just said its okay, we super glued it... Took the car one round around the car park, went behind touched the license plate and it dropped off.

 

Went back to the office, they wanted me to pay for it, i already down 50 deposit, and didn't accept, so argue back and forth, finally they agreed to change vehicle at no extra cost, and won't touch my deposit, a camry cause they run out of entry cars.

 

Long story short, had to chase them for another 3 weeks before getting my deposit back.

 

So yea, pay additional 10-20 bucks, get a licensed and appropriate business lender. There are also many others that will lend to P plates, unfortunately the only one that lends to Pplates that comes to mind right now is Whizz car, that needs membership and i do have one as well. My point being, there are other alternatives to renting cars than those who try and chop.

Police do investigate cheating cases. Even if it's just one case and not a series one. U just need to check back with the IOs for updates on the case u reported.

And u may be right that u may not get a single cent back unless there is an out of court settlement.. Even then, no guarantee that police won't go ahead with the charge..

Well, i would like to support your recommendation. Rented from them before, think they are proper, cars are cleaned and rates are competitive, though not new cars. But new cars' rental would be much more expensive liaoz. ;p

Ive rented out a car from ezcarrental at bukit batok. The rd tax states passenger(private)

 

Will bookmark this tread and will update in the future for others to benefit as i too am a custormer that will always rent cars.
