Hi guys.. It turns out that my brother's bike is not due to weak battery..

PML said that the starter motor suffered wear and tear.. Thus the wallet throws up abt $500.. Not my wallet though.. Hee..

I was looking at the Blue RT too... is the price reasonable? tough question... but if I like the badge and don't mind riding a COE bike, I will go for it and make sure I have some cash standby for following :

A) $3k for ABS

B) $3k for clutch replacement

c) $5k to replace the left chain tensioner inside the engine, many R11 experience broken left side chain tensioner

http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMid/B0003648.png

e) $1k for new disc plate for front and back

f) $300 for new starter motor

Immediate action after taking the bike...

d) $500 to replace a new hall sensor

e) $300 for valve adjustment

f) $200 for oil, air filter replacement

g) $300 for a new battery

h) $100 for new brake pads

i) new paint? new wiring or rewiring?

think still have some more tt I cannot think of now, then you will sure have a nice and enjoyable ride...

:faint:

correction, starter motor - $500/-

Old bikes have more character. 2 of mine are on their 2nd COE already.

Coils ($200 each) and HT ($85 eachx4) leads can cost money as well but you are able to get them used off ebay or breakers in the UK.

Most impt thing in my books are the suspension,I always change mine to aftermarket ones, and brakes - steel braided lines and EBC-HH/original Brembo pads!

Assuming the engine is fine.

Yup, i'm impressed by the 12year old R1100R. Rides unexpectedly well.

Used the bike for commuting for the past 3 days. Encounter 3 jams, CTE southbound in the morning twice and PIE east bound just now.

The bike is nimble enough to lane split and keep up with the pace of the cubs and super4s.

Hi Danzi,

Why don't you ask the sales person for the price?

Should be in excess of 40k.

S$60k machine price? Still cheaper than 1098R and MGS01...

You ride with panniers? How's ease of squeeze?

NEARLY - (adv.) In a near manner; not remotely; closely; intimately; almost.

SOLD - v. Past tense and past participle of sell.

Hi Mamat,

I'm wondering if Dili owns those used bike that are there for sale or are they just consigning for owners? Do they charge storage fees for those bikes on sale?

I've got similar comments from the staff at Dili regarding the K1200LT. According to them, the reason that it is hard to leave the showroom is due mainly to the intimidating size and weight of the machine. Secondly, the K engine is much more complex and difficult to maintain than the R boxer. engine.
