My GSA reg in May 08 fuel guage was indicating either empty or full only, no in between in Nov 08 at mileage of 12k.

The fuel sensing strip in the fuel tank was replaced and recalibrated under warranty by PML.

Advrider.com forum have many info of what can go wrong with our rides just like this fuel guage thingy so just watch out for those areas of concerns and noe how to overcome/rectify them especially when upcountry into area north.

We have heard some rider's having bad experiences with PML but that is just only their side of the coin.

I am sure PML have got nothing personal against any rider, rather it is just Business b,cos they have their company standard operation precedures, rule of engagement, cost etc.

If PML don't want our business, we have the choice to take it elsewhere like some inmates did to KL.

However. would like to share my good experiences with PML

1. Before embarking on a 23 day road trip to Thailand early Jan 09, I expressed my concern with the high failure rate of the Ring Antenna & the Fuel Pump Relay assembly as reported in Advrider.com.

PML kindly T loan me both items and also gave me the BMW contacts in Phuket, BKK and Changmai if assistance is required.

2. Delay output during a routine servicing and PML give a complimentary engine oil and oil filter service.

3. 2 week before a road trip in April 10, PML advise me to input for a slight engine oil leak rectification and done under warranty else it might cause me grief and lighten my wallet alot when i return cos it would be out of warranty already.

PML, if U read this where is my complimentary service?

Just my personal humble experiences with PML

Sound like BMW bikes really got a lot of problems.

Is it really worth it to pay such an amount to get their bikes?

i would say all bike will give problems.

It's just because it is 'BMW' that more people will take notice of the 'problems'. Like what the ceo of apple said ' it's over blown'

Think it is just BMW in a hot country like sg. The bike is build for their condition n not sg. Advrider also review that in some season they faces some different problem too. Guess jap bike is build for most condition and quality shld be better control.

Being Asian we are working differently from other American n European country. More "hardworking" that why ang mo doesn't like Asian to work in their company. U can notice that overtime is a maz for Asian company and not necessary in an ang mo company outside sg.

Lol!!! It's just my 2cents observation.

More than 160,000 units of GS/GSA was sold worldwide and 1% or 2% of owners reported problems in a Forum with many Hits and the numbers suddenly may look serious.

However, the bigger picture of 1% or 2% in excess of 160,000 is not alarming and will not Stop riders from buying the GS/GSA or any of the others BMW models period.

It is best to research on the model that one is keen on to understand the bike Dynamic & Technicality, plus the Get Well plans to clear that "What If these or What If that happens syndrome".

Buying with your Eyes Open so to speak.

Be patience and do not buy on inpulse.

Buy what is affordable, buy the model with yr heart and not your mind.

Buy with yr heart is what make you happiest, if u can buy with both mind and heart than u have got value for money as well.

Buy What you Love or Love What you Buy?

If only i can overcome my prejudice mindset against BMW i could have enjoy the experience much earlier.

Now since May 08 i get to enjoy my ride as and when i want it 24/7 365 days.

As the sying goes "it is better late than never" and the begining of any journey or adventure will only starts if we take that very first step forward.

Worry Less and Ride More.

So many Bikes, So many Roads, So little Time & Only 1 Passion.

Worth every of my hard earned SGP Cents.

I can't totally agree with silverbullet but to a certain extend, u have to make clear once u buy a BMW u will have a sum of backUp $$ for the unfortunate break down (like Im going thru now) if u buy a second hand. Lucky for me it only consider minor break down, for a two year old BMW. fuel sensor (it's already cost $330). If u buy some older BMW then u may want to save up abit more fr other major break down.

Pray hard u don't get the unlucky 1-2% bike Wich will have many problem. Anyway if u get a first hand, u have no worry as there are warranty for replacement. Kudos for BMW warranty not like Honda and yamaha!!! Tis break down is not cover and that breakdown is not cover. So wat is the warranty for Honda and yamaha for?

Its good and pleasing to know that PML still has scored brownie points with some clients.

I have not had any issue from them and they have been helpful thus far for my 08 GSA.

I am taking a 16 day Northern Thailand trip this coming Oct and will send the bike in for a complimentary pre trip check. Just want to make sure the bike's tip top when i head north to give me a peace of mind.

Will ask for the contacts in BKK and Chiang Mai/ Chiang Rai if any.... for BMW bikes just incase.

thumbs up for posting your experience. :thumb: Cheers!

By M tech bro, most of the damages are cosmetic parts, so i left it for them to replace the parts.

Quite nicely done up, except the fact that they are short handed and need alot of pushing!!!
