guys, other than PML... where else can get BMW batt? Tks

 

Just change mine last wk... Bought from HKL Yuasa YTX14-BS... The height is taller then the stock batt but can remove the base that is inside the battery compartment. (Mine is a GSA... Not sure of other model) Sit perfectly... Got it for $110...

That is a good deal. Changed my batt 2 wks back from PML. Cost $220 DOUBLE!

Tot its a different batt but when i opened it, its Yuasa. Can't remember the model no.

I thought I read somewhere that beemer requires special batt because of the ABS, if volt is low the ABS will not function properly?

u can buy the touratech cockpit cover.. comes with 12v socket and the bmw plug socket.

connect to battery directly.. do not connect to the canbus or piggyback on any other wire.

look like an antenna jack for the comms set..just that the cables are removed and antenna too and a cap over the exposed connector

Wacko- direct battery connection is another method but it do have it's cons. Which would be tapping power from battery even when its not required. There is an additional plug for elect socket which is located at just below the oil cooler... for GS 1200. Its shown in the bike electrical diagram. Damn canbus electrics is so cheem compared to good old nippons bikes elect. Another option would be get a touratech Bmw plug connector with ciggy socket , thanks for the link!

I read in Advrider forum... most of the beemers here change theirs to YTX14-BS... No problem...

For myself so far had not encounter any problem regarding the ABS with this batt

there are quite a few online shops in USA selling at slightly different price, some with free terminal brackets some without, some with free local shipping some without, some can pay by paypal some cannot... the one i got from might not be the cheapest as i didn't do much searching, is abt USD180 with shipping. if i find one with free local shipping and arrange my own shipment to Singapore, it will be slightly cheaper but much longer delivery.

 

locally, audio shops quoted me s$320 c&c.

then found on RS component online for s$280 b/f gst

finally found a company in tuas selling s$250 b/f gst but all these r w/o the terminal brackets...
