yup theres no rationale but sometimes its just how u play with words may give u a hope, i got caught with an illegal muffler last time, played with words a little and manage to get the fine halved,so i dont see why i shudnt try appealing, thats y asking for suggestions :D

i kena summoned before.

for my case is i never even secure it, the strap is dangling in the air.

punishment is $120 fine + 3 demerit point.

never bother to appeal because what excuse/reason can you really think of for such act?

i deliberately cannot agree with this mentality of wearing unsecured helmet. Be it Tp, Rov, or even your siblings would catch u with this irresponsible act of yours, they do this because they care for your SAFETY.. hope you get this in your head.

I agree with @unsuitable90, rather than trying to avoid/diminish the fine, treat this fine as a lesson to strapping up.

Not strapping up is close to not wearing a helmet to start with.

i myself did tried to appeal due to enyzma from young and was quite obvious that my neck area got rashes. I showed my medical report as well but was not able to appeal . They suggested to me by changing helmet so that i will feel comfortable. i paid my fine and went off. Lesson Learnt. =)

illegal exhaust can come up with many reason/excuses. but not strapping your helmet?

helmet strap lost? cannot fit? not original?

What most of the people here are trying to say is.

Don't compromise on safety.

And a secured helmet, no matter how silly that strap must go under/over 2nd ring thingy is. Is a safety issue.

Your muffler aka bike part is not a safety issue. Your body parts are.

Motorcyclist Arrested For Attempting To Bribe Traffic Cop

A 22-year-old motorcyclist who attempted to bribe a Traffic Police officer yesterday found out the hard way that police integrity could not be bought.

On 12 December 2010 at about 5.20pm , Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Ang Kok Yong was patrolling along the KJE when he spotted a motorcyclist riding on the expressway with his helmet strap flapping and not properly secured. SSgt Ang immediately signalled the rider to stop.

After SSgt Ang explained to the motorcyclist that he would be booked for not securing his helmet properly, the motorcyclist took out two ten dollar notes and offered them to SSgt Ang in return for letting him off. SSgt Ang immediately rejected the bribe and placed the rider under arrest for attempting to bribe him. The case has since been referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).

Commander of Traffic Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cheang Keng Keong commended SSgt Ang for upholding a high level of integrity. He said, “I am proud of SSgt Ang who has held true to the core values of the SPF . SSgt Ang is an exemplary example to his colleagues."
