[Chain Oiling] What is fly off?

As topic said. sorry for noob question, haven't oil my chain for a while, always give to mech do..

fly off means excess lube that are "fling" off the chain when u ride. creates alot of mess on ur rear wheel, swing arm , floor etc.

Yep correct

 

To reduce fly off or fling, simply let the lube soak into the chain before riding. Fly off is a natural part of the chain's mechanical flaws, but thats why we have O and X rings to hold the lube in and to try and make it self cleaning.

 

Another good tip is to lube only after riding (to make the chain hot), lube and then let it sit overnight. Then you won't have fly off in the morning and the chain has packed in more lubrication due to the contraction.

That might happen if honey is used for chain lube

just got my bike slightly more than one month, hahas must learn to diy and not depend solely on mechs..
