Hi all,

 

I just happened to make a simple excel spreadsheet to assist me in my budgeting for my next bike. I don't know if i've got all the components right but i was wondering if any seniors out there can verify my work and see if i'm accurate.

 

Its actually a good tool for those bikers who want to calculate the costs involved in purchasing their next bike.

I covered that under "admin fee" row.

 

But actually in the real world theres no such thing as "admin fee" haha. Its just a form of goodwill gesture that you can pay to the shop for their services.

I've already narrowed down to an R6 but depending on the year - maybe 07 onwards.

 

The whole idea of this thread is to find out if i've covered all aspects in the financing of the bike except the maintenance and upkeep.

I am betting that your rides will be mainly on streets, roads, and bike trails. Terrain can will be mixed, and it will be on pavement and concrete. That your idea of a fun ride may include trying to do some longer distance rides.... and you want it for the fun and exercise you get from riding. That being the case, the hybrid would be your bike IF you want to add grass, dirt, gravel, or sand to the riding mix. Drop bar racers are only good for hard, smoother, surfaces!
