Hi guys

Just collected my bike from the shop.

Rather disappointed as some parts of the bike is rusty although it's a 1st hand bike. (Chain, the hole where you pour EO in, one of the screw on the front brake pump.)

Some questions:

1 - Is it normal for the bike to be super hot? I've rode CBR400 and SP before but this bike is the hottest so far.

2 - The hole to pour EO in, is rusty. It seems like it's part of the bike frame. Is there anything I can do about the rust at such a location?

The first time i got my drz was super hot like yours. My topped up some engine ICE and was fine afterwards. before it was totally empty O.O

you must be kidding!!

CBR ran cooler???

maybe you can try changing out the coolant..

all bikes will run hot if stationary..

DRZ's cooling is one of the most efficient ones.. as long as you are moving, it's good at cooling..

my 3 yrs of owning DRZ, not more than 10 times the coolant fan on..

during changing of EO, use some used EO to scrub with scotch-brite like blacktide had mentioned..

places like the part where the foot pegs are mounted also are more prone to rust..

get these areas scrubbed and regularly de-rust the areas..

else, you can always strip the whole bike and get the frame powdercoated again..

hi all, some questions to ask since i know nuts abt my zee.

i read some remarks from previous post abt the new lv exhaust. which model is it referred to? any distinguish marks or so to differentiate the older and new?

cost compared to yoshi trioval is quite significant, worth the extra gees to get the yoshi?

and lastly taillight + rear mudguard, what other alternatives i have beside stock? so far i encountered none.

Hey bongsta, the new lv exhaust has a carbon fiber end cap. Its quite obvious when u see one.

I think which exhaust is worth it depends on ur budget and how much ur willing to spend for an exhaust. I had the same dillemma few weeks back and decided to go with the lv cos i got a very good deal for that.

For taillight, there are in fact other alternatives and i believe most riders out there are using. One such brand is the drc edge taillight. Cost ard 95-120. Diff shop diff price. No mudguard/rear fender. Another one is the no-brand one. Cost ard 60. No mudguard or rear fender cos blocked by ur no. plate

Eh and the yoshi is lighter. But like biting point told me, it produces the same tone as the new lv. Performance wise im not too sure but... Other than being lighter, how much power difference can a street legal exhaust get??

Thanx blacktide. I'm aware of the edge taillight but i'm more concern more on the mudguard. Wonder got nicer alternative. Abt the exhaust, i'm not particular abt performance. I still think the bike has more than enuff performance. I just love the shorter end can look of the tri oval.

Guys 2 things that's bugging me at the moment..

i) just noticed that my coolant tank is at 5% filled at the moment..how fast does the coolant evaporate? if ever it does..?Did do a long touring trip up north recently though.

ii) some kind of tingling sound when engine's cold..i mean on top of the normal rattly engine sound..but once it's warmed up the sound goes away...

Any kind soul to enlighten..?

thanks..

Eh! This one "fragmasterkarl" is usin.. Lol.. Nice.. Why wud it be illegal? Cannot use normal bulb meh?

Ahah you're right mate!! that's fragmaster's headlight. looks awesome right?! but where he's from its street legal. honestly what makes it illegal -.- the brightness should meet lta regulations -.- this stinks!!

have u read biting_points reviews or comments? the yoshi is the top street legal..delta barrel the new one is not straight thru as the older model of the deltas..if u are looking to save some money u can choose the new LV full system.. yoshi is full titanium and lighter..no worrying of rusts on ur header as well..

bro ticks, i think the tickling sound is cos the engine is cold and the engine oil inside has not moven ard yet, after the EO starts to move ard the engine parts, which by then the bike has warmed up, the sound shd be gone. i think its common among bikes
