Guys! What is the oldest DRZ400SM i can get and how much would it cost, fully stock? I would like to know a rough price before i look around. Thanks!

I guess would be the E models..But beware, i went to DX to look for a DRZ SM fully stock FBA plate, boss quoted me 9k, interest 7%; went to EC, FBB plate, got FCR, FS Delta, Body Graphics, KTM fronts, Zeta, 8.8k, 6 %....

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Oh, so there is nothing cheaper than that ah... Are there older ones, lets say, FZ plates and before?

Guys,

Need some help here... wats the purpose of this white container? Is it for coolant, should it be filled? Cos mine is like empty. I just got this bike, but the container was previously broken and had the bike shop replaced it for me. Should it be like half filled or something? Thanx!!:)

This is what i rememberd when i sent for coolant flush.

My mech fill the radiator till its full then he xfer some coolant to a small bottle with a small tip and inject the coolant thru the black hose till its half filled.

Hey man like what Ahys said..u need to 'inject' the fluid into the small hole just where the rad cap sits on the rad itself.. i tried topping up mine but the coolant just wont flow into that small tube to the white reservoir unless it's sort of pressurized to go that way...

BTW thanks for the comment for the decals..i like it too as it wasn't too flashy...but too bad i cant comment on the price cos it was done up by the previous owner... but i guess would be around the region of 200 bucks +-??

I see mech topping up coolant from the radiator cap. He will fill up till the tip of the hole, uses his hands to cover the hole and blow it, then the coolant will start flowing into the reservoir tank. The reservoir works like tis, the radiator gets hot, coolant flows into the reservoir tank, and when it cools, the coolant flows back to the radiator from the reservoir tank. I guess the purpose of half filling the reservoir is to prevent heat making the reservoir tank harden and breaks( I heard it breaks easily), and mayb to monitor the coolant level also. Tis is wat I heard thou, experts, do correct me if I'm wrong so I can learn new things. Tks

you'll need locks, front disc, rear disc and maybe brake lever lock..

remember to lock your handlebar too.. DRZ is very vulnerable to theft..

maybe you wanna do a master switch and hide it from view to prevent short circuit jump start?

what spockets are you on?? previously on 15/39, very comfortable cruising at 100kph with short sprints till Kulai..

the furthest I went up was Malacca, that time on 15/43 which is quite high on the RPMs when travelling at 100kph..

pre-ride checks are important.. chain not too tight, tyres enough thread, inner tubes are good, valve stems are not rusty, headlights are working, brakelights too, etc..

you may wanna bring extra inner tubes as Msia may not have DRZ sizes if running on tubes..

other then that, have enough rest.. 100kph will take you at least 4-5hrs from GP to KL..

enjoy your trip..!

If u have extra cash go for a valve clearance, LocTite, adjust timing chain, flush coolant and a fresh pair or EO b4 u head up. Money spend on ur bike is better then money spend on a tow fee :)

JkBring spare tools if ever you need to fix a puncture. Touch wood. Bloody michelins on excel rims are difficult to separate manually! drz rise to kl, you have my respect, man. Ride safe and let us know how u fare!

Talking about extra money. Considering the touching 400 kms that you're about to do,might wanna consider getting a windshield?haha

Yes bro. But when your rear wheel is out and on a temporary stand on the swing arm don't feel confident to move the side stand around eh.

Unless of course got other people around la.
