Bro just buy and ride only, dont need worry soo much. Parts r easy and cheap to find. Imho most ideal bike to ride in singapore road. Once u go SM u will never go back.

If my only bike no issue, if its not then must balance la, cannot follow heart all the time hahahah. Will ride the tits off the bike...or at least try to wahahah.

If it is anywhere as bulletproof as my S4, I would seriously consider it.

I'm not so sure about a DRZ being as low-maintenance and reliable as an S4; the 1000km engine oil change interval alone is going to boggle the mind of an S4 rider used to a 10-12000km OCI. That and the EO-cooled stator which tends to fail before its 2-year lifespan if you neglect regular EO changes. But apart from that, the (stock) DRZ does have a reputation for reliability, particularly compared to the Italian-made Runner.

As a commuting bike, a DRZ offers a higher riding posture which gives you a better view of the road, and its higher handlebar clearance also makes filtering between lanes easier. It is also more nimble, as scramblers tend to be, but its higher CG and more upright riding posture mean more drag and a rougher ride at higher speeds.

I think a DRZ trumps the S4, Spark and Runner simply because you can do one thing the others can't: go offroad. Throw on semi-offroad tyes and you can do light weekend offroad trailing. Its (modded) acceleration and lighter weight also makes it a viable track machine, as Angelo of Raptor Motorsports will tell you.

If you just want a cheap, low-fuss, easy-to-ride commuting machine, I'd pick a cub or CVT scooter. As the others have said, pick a DRZ if you want something more fun to ride and (as I've said) capable of some fun off our roads.

Different but comparing on cost of maintenance between those bikes still = $$$ mah, Gilera change belting, spark oil changes, spare parts all money in the end. Reliability is one thing but the cost of your normal wear and tear is another, full overhaul, valve clearances, brake pads etc.

Used to ride a TZM and a Ver S, I think I'm rather well versed with problem bikes wahahah.

True that the maintenance isn't the lowest in the market. 40 a month x12 means quite alot in a year.. But then again its single cylinder so maybe any engine jobs would be divided by 4 if compared to S4. And if given a task to ride up north. I might even take the s4 over the zee.. But then again.. I love the experience the zee gives me.. Lol. Doesn't make sense but that's how it goes.. I still gotta say, I prefer my zee over the cb600 or sth in BBDC ehile I was learning my class 2. My zee gives a so much better riding experience than that..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

I think there are a good many bikes that give a much better riding experience than the bloody Class 2 CB600s. Haha. I used to get butt and leg cramps after 15 mins on those monsters.

Not many Class 2A options for a tall dude, which is the primary reason why I chose the bike, and then I was very pleasantly surprised to discover how many things I could do with it.

And ticks, slap on an AirHawk or customised seat and you can ride as long and hard up the NSE as you want! ;)

Hahahaha. I thought I was the only one! Ya but sometimes I just want to speed to the place I want to go. Speed as in 150-170 ish.. Not the 200-300 kind. And the zee doesn't really like those speeds.

Well anything up north, I wouldn't even want to use my S4, espcially not when you'll be riding with Cls 2 peeps, you'll get pissed on all over. 200km/h plus and they fly by like you're stationary and tell you that you should go faster -_-.

For Singapore, the excess speeds the S4 is capable of is something I don't need. Besides that's a good thing since how fast you can react means more than what's the speed limit when you're late bwahahaha.

A DRZ is capable of taking on and giving a hard fight to any SuperFour on the race track.

Been there..done that.

Never, never look down upon a DRZ.

I know some riders will even give 600s a run for their money, especially for PG ;).

12000km? That's insane, I'll admit I treat the S4 like crap but fear of a piston jamming means I don't cheat out on the oil changes, at most I change at 6000km, sometimes 8000km but 12000 is too much. If its more reliable than the Runner, that's a plus. I heard of horror stories if you stretch the belt change intervals too long.

Wonder what causes my right fork to have a hole? It was spurting fork oil and had to be replaced. Burnt my wallet before Hari Raya for the replacement.

Raptor, any idea?

That could be the super 4 size tyres profile. Front 120/60 rear 160/60. $250 can get also. Drz shd get 120/70 front 150/60 rear. Tried both before. Cos infind it affordable. But the handling feels weird. And bike kinda heavy.

Bottom line is.. what is cheap aint good.. and what is good aint cheap.

In the end its your life on the line coz the tyre is the final contact you have with the tarmac.

Save a few dollars and lose the life... it comes down to how much you price your own life.

Hi All, just bought a used DRZ 2 weeks ago, trying to look for more info on this bike here.

Any idea where to convert the stock rim to tubeless & how long does it take?

Or is there any other bike's rim can be used on DRZ. TIA
