no la ..was thinking ride to malaysia ,touch wood scare any thing happen that side still can fix ..

Oh. Yeah hor. It would suck to have a vehicle breakdown in Malaysia. Why don't you take a look at SYM's Global website see their Malaysia authorised dealers and work from there? I've written to them before and they do reply.

SOrry, side track: what is the size (volume) of the under-seat compartment of JoyMax 300 EVO? 55L?

My current COE is almost expire and I ride Phamton 200. I am comtemplating of getting Suzuki Burgman (200cc), Sym JoyMax 300, or just stick with my old Phamton to save $.

Thanks.

SYM JoyMax of course.

If you're getting the Burgman, why not go for the 400?

Joymax evo is about $1000 cheaper than the Joymax 300i

has more space to keep stuff in the front compartment

Joymax 300i has better parts and looks better,

the underseat storage is very big can fit 2 full face helmets and 2 raincoats

Joymax 300i...why not go for MaxSym? Price differs a lot?

it's about $2000 more for maxsym

Joymax is more agile than Maxsym plus the running cost is lower

1. Cheaper road tax (about 27% cheaper)

2. Cheaper insurance (half of maxsym)

3. better fuel economy (32km/l)

other pro that I considered before buying is the

1. larger seat storage space

2. better cc to power ratio (29hp vs 33 hp)

it's more suitable for city riding and short weekends long distance trip

Oh...thanks for info.

I kept reading that kymco is more reliable compared to sym.

That huge a diff?

There's DT 300i vs Joyride 300i.

Very similar bikes.

How to choose?

I did consider DT 300i also as the storage space and looks are about the same

but a few things that have taken me back

1. Fuel consumption (DT300i - 25km/L) vs (Joymax 300i - 32km/L)

2. almost the same HP despite the larger cc (DT 300i - 299cc - 29 HP) vs (Joymax 300i - 278 cc - 29hp )

3. slighty more expensive about $1000++ more than Joymax 300i

pros about Kymco downtown 300i are their brakes are better quality than the joymax 300i

but hey with the $1000 diff I can get an oversize disc brake with better quality caliper than DT300i with some money left for a few months of petrol

they are very similar just go for the one you like better

Another excellent post :)

I don't see many 300i scooters on sale.

Quite a few 200 ones...DT 200i, Joyride 200, GTS 200... but not many 300s.

Maybe all the riders keeping the bike and enjoying the ride.

Never occurred to me that a 300 bike would be adequate.

It's either 200cc bike or 400cc. Now I'm swayed by you...haha.

that has alot to do with human nature, most people will want to get the most of what they can.

300 and 400 is not alot apart especially if you're paying by installment.

Running cost is more important to me, my research has shown that Joymax 300i is the best value scooter for me.

it's well balance in

1. price

2. running cost

3. storage space

4. power

there is no best bike but it all comes down to if the bike is suitable for your lifestyle

I have a similar thinking. Running cost is impt. to me too. Joymax 300i seems like a well balanced bike for my needs.

Except that COE now ruins everything....sigh...

Running cost not that cheap anymore, and keeps going up for new bikes.

Thanks bro....

Bro Hondaoftroy.....need to check something from u. How do u find the filling of petrol for our joymax? I feel this is the only setback for our joymax. Do u think so?

if you need it you still have to find a way to get it,

with the current COE price I would suggest you get a bike that can retain it's value in the long run

in case COE drops before election which there is a high chance of happening you still won't lose so much.

Joymax has a low running cost but the resale value is not there in the resale market.

I'm ok with filling up, whats is the problem you're facing ?

there is a round spring loaded lid that you have to push into to insert the petrol pump nozzle to pump the petrol.

I had my time where I was trying to figure out how to pump for the first time when I got my bike

are you facing the same problem ?
