Why: Gather, eat, take pictures and enjoy the big vara gathering

Thanks Niti for the invitation, unfortunately i hv work commitment.

 

Think i only know visual as we bought the under-cowl & fixed them together early last year.

 

Well, a bit about my bike, bought it from SBF member one & half year ago.

Love this bike till now, 'cos it's the most efficeint bike from all my previous 7 bikes since 1986.(u can see how old i am) People says there's no power, till now still wonder why 'cos it has all the power i want even overtaking on the expressway, at traffic lights, still the first to zoom off, so what more can i ask? This bike is awesome... good looking, pratical, fuel economical, maintenance free......above all it's very exclusive.

 

Things I added: under-cowl, tank bra, tank bag.

The Day A Varadero125cc got Bullied

 

here's wat happened:

i was travelling from Bt Panjang to Holland Village via Woodlands Road.

as the traffic was quite congested tat time(7.45pm) due to road works, i decided to squeeze pass those cars,while i was squeezing pass,my balancers knock onto the side mirror of a MPV(SDS78XXD..forget the full number plate as i glanced once only).the side mirror bend outwards,i panic n i know i'm not going to run away else my number plate will be taken down n more trouble will come.

so i waved to the driver(signalling to him tat i'm sorry).but this arrogant chap did not forgive me so easily.he horn at me a few times.demanded me to push back the mirror to its original position(i tried to reverse back abit but couldn't as there is a car beside).so i tot could wait awhile more den shift the mirror back.but guess wat he did?he ram his front bumper into me.squeezing my ankle in between my bike and his bumper(causing some burns as i tip toe and touched one of those exhaust pipes).i didn't wan trouble,so i just adjusted his mirror back and left.

i thought wanna make a police report on him but i didn't get his number plate right by having just a glance.

 

i know is my fault,but is there a need for him to be so violent?

Wah Vara84, that driver is a bit too much lah... dun need to do that right... he can just horn at you the most..wah to bad you cant get the number plate correct...but ask our police riders in this forum lah if we can actually make police report...cos based on my police experience, we can do some kinda ROV screening with a few numbers that we have right? I dunno, but I think you got a case here...sometimes these drivers are really too much huh...

 

Now let me relate to my experience of almost being killed by the same taxi twice...

First, he wanted to cut into my lane....without signalling somemore...i horned at him but the taxi driver insisted on having his way and squeezed me to a very corner that i have no choice but to give in and let him pass...but of cos, i am not done with him yet... especially since it is a taxi... I really hate them to the core if u guys are not aware...so I overtook him from the right, and just when i am slightly ahead of him and can see the taxi on my left mirror, I glanced to the left and spat with so much hatred that it smeared the taxi's windscreen, to my extreme pleasure and satisfaction...but it was not to be the end of cos...he started to get crazy and tried to overtake me...at one point, he was going towards me at an angle that I know sure gonna knock me if i let him...twice he tried knocking me down..so i sped and managed to sqeezed thru traffic and lost sight of him....

Questions to our officers of the law in this forum...can he actually lodge a police report against me for spitting? do i have a case against him too? or just lodge a report for reckless driving against him?

ur accident occurs for a few minutes and some distance..whereas for mine is less than 1min and occurred around 5metres only.not much movements from both parties as i was trying to squeeze pass traffic n the stupid MPV was waiting there.if i were to take action against him without any injuries i'll definitely be on the losing end cos i'll end up paying for his mirror

thanks for bringing me to Superbike..helpful mechanic unlike most bike shop where they ask u change even if still in working condition..

[vara84] sometimes.. we bang to ppl.. mirror, accidental lah... i feel if the mirror is not broken, if just a light tap and it got shifted, then well ok lah.. wave, and move on.... no harm done, he want to horn or what ever let him horn lah... if u didint break it.. he cant report u.. what...anyways he can adjust him self, u adjust also dont know what settings he wants...some cars its servo adjustable.. so if you shift it also.. no point...

 

these ppl, u want and help them then they will show u who's boss and try to play punk.. want to show the ppl in his car that he is a 'real man' show u his ego.. why shoudl u endure all that////, for what.. screw them lah,, i mean its an accident.. sorry lah... i mean we are bike, we squeeze ... that how it is.. sometimes these ppl know we squeeze but place their vehicle on the lane marking to block us... then they are asking for their mirror to be banged..

 

my advise.. next time.. try lah becareful... if banged, then check.. if its not broken, wave.. move on.. lah..

Hi vara bros, any of you got any idea how much the crashbar costs at biketech 21?? Wanna install the bar and also want to install the mainstand lah... can our vara use S4 stand??

ya i agree..cos there were passengers in his MPV and even front passenger dun bother to open window and adjust..the mirror juz went outwards..and there weren't any scratches..i was going slow speed somemore..think from now on i'll squeeze less often..thanks for ur advise visual..

i heard from Niti juz now is $200+ for the crashbar..

and for mainstand i tink is $100+ but dunno where to get it..

if MAH have the previous owner(of my bike) contact den will be gd..

Thanx Vara84, hope that Niti will come in later and tell us where is the place to buy these items... Crashbar power lah... at least wif a mainstand, no need to worry parking at a slope lah....

No lah, bro. at superbike, the most cheap one there... denso plugs, cleaning of carb, others only $24 or 36 forgotten already lah... change engine oil also can , by the way, you still have 3 bottles right...

 

Yeah, how's the broquet work or not? Saw alot of them used, saying it very good... but must know from the same bike one better...

mayb i use one set(with 2 pellets) is not enough for our bikes..cos our tank exceed 14litres should use two sets..but i find the mileage better..haven even use reserve can travel like 410km..and there is still a few more litres to reserve..

 

might be doing a full servicing when my bike reaches 2yrs old..

-change air filter

-wash carb

-oil filter also

 

i currently using NGK plugs from Japan @$10/each..still ok lah..think denso better

crash bar huh? actually i went down to dunlop st few months back to look for a sticker shop. i cant find the shop but i came upon dis shop called biketech if i'm not mistaken. from outside the shop, i tot i saw some crash bars on display inside. if they r really crashbars, i still dunno whether its type is for our bike or not. maybe one of these days when i got the money, then i mite drop by at the shop n ask

 

another option to get the crashbar is from this website, http://www.motoroda.gr. look under their products and they sell crashbars for our bikes for 120 euros, dats about S$215, excluding shipments. to me crashbar important man, u nvr now when u bike will lie on its side, ceh!!!!

 

aniway, tank bra comes first. i tink nex mnth i get the bra coz dis mnth money spent on the boosters already
