110/70 17 on the front would probably change the rolling diameter. might give a higher km/h. anyone knows if there is a 110 80 17 size?

for day to day non touring usage, I think rear drum is fine.

hi all.

i just got my 2B license 2 weeks ago and i'm seriously considering getting the FZ16. can you guys just let me know how your experiences on the bike are?

is there really a difference between a drum brake at the rear and a disc brake?

and anything else you can share with a newb.

thanks!! (:

Maybe u can go through all the pages from page 20++ onwards. U can find almost most of the things we experience on the bike and also all the poisons we are having now.

I know it's abit crazy, but it's the best ans. If u are in a FZ16 page, and ppl who rides FZ16, they will definitely tell u it's a crazy awesome bike... so... hahaha....

Even Rear drum can go touring already, so it's definitely good. Disc brake, New technology. Drum brake, Old technology. :thumb: LOL!

Bro, When the fuel guage is blinking, there are still around 2 litre of petrol at least, which u dont need to turn ur knob to reserve tank immediately. The Blinking sign can last at least 40km and abv, cos bike didnt die off and still going far.

elo bro, i actually nvr make use of the knob/fuel cock. I normally just set it to reserve. I dont see why i need to use it since FZ16 is equipped with a fuel level gauge. Unless there is a good reason to practise to use the fuel cock?

well, i do know when it blinks bike still can go, as it is just an indication it has just went into reserve. What i was asking was, what is our fuel tank capacity? Capacity of full tank excluding reserve and capacity of reserve tank. Any idea bro?

Coz i remember reading manual, which mentioned 12L full tank, and reserve is about 1.4L. But when my fuel gauge blinks, i only managed to fill in petrol 9L. Means our full tank exclude reserve is 9L only? And maybe like you mentioned, reserve tank is 2L...or maybe 3L.

My first 9L can travel a mileage of about 430KM. pretty good i guess...but i am still running in though.

for me when blinking i always manage to pump 9+ litre i believe our full tank is 12litre including reserve cause i ever pump 10+ litre before so meaning our tank is 10.6L reserve 1.4L total 12L

you mean when your fuel gauge blink its with 1 bar left or zero when top up?

from my experience it start to blink with 1 bar, it can still travel about 30+km then drop to zero bar and fuel gauge still blinking and i manage to travel another 30+km before top up. and i top up about 11L.

I havent turn to reserve mode yet.

elo guys... it is true dat e fuel meter gauge starts blinkin for reserve quantity at abt 9L. true dat e full tank is arso 12L.

havin a norm and reserve mode is actually helpful cos e least it can do is savin riders frm riding flat empty.

normally i wud ride even wen e gauge starts blinking wif e fuel knob on norm mode. wen e engine starts to choke, thirsty for fuel while riding, i'll turn e fuel knob to reserve. dis is e indication wen e real reserve is abt 1.4~1.5L left. so den i, make my way to e petrol kiosk for top up.

ur FC will depend on ur throttle habit. normally, i'll ride at abt 7rpm wic gives me abt 95km/hr speed on e highway. so far mileage has been good.

i've been riding less nowadays, so wen me bike is left at e MSCP i'd rather put e fuel knob on norm mode instead. dis is after some observation, dat i need to put e choke lever on, to start e bike frm cold. kinda waste to put extra fuel, just to warm e engine for lubrication.

jus sharing my experience. anyone else care to share?

ei bro... so wen ur changin urs? (tyres)

drum brake is ok arso mah.... e living legend RXZ arso got no problem rite?

onli tink is dat, if a rider is lazy, and carries on usin e drum brakes til botak... e damage done onto e inner rear wheel hub will eventually cost e rider a new rear rim. replacing new brake shoe will still be ineffective.

nieways...e brake disc looks more chic arso rite?

niyone got it chg yet?

with 1 bar blinking, and i go top up. in my experience with another bike, when last bar blinks, it means reserve, and it will keep on blinking even till petrol dries up. hmm...so its different with FZ16. when blink it doesnt mean reserve. but i have a question. u said with 1 bar left, that bar will blink. then it will drop further to zero bar....meaning no more bar....if no more bar on fuel gauge, then what is still blinking in your fuel gauge as you have mentioned?

oic....for me i have the habit of just looking at the fuel gauge. when it blinks, i will take it as it has gone reserve, and avoid travelling far before topping up. the only bikes that i rode and made use of the fuel cock was my ex vespa px150 and ex cbr400 hurricane....coz both have no fuel gauge indicator...haha!

still looking for the matching front as 110 80 17 seems like not available.

rear drums are fine as braking force is mostly in front. all pans down to reaction time. lol.

Bro, I think u got ur facts wrong. 1st of all, u set to reserve for ur fuel knob all the way? That means it's draining petrol from ur reserve then from ur tank? Normally it's to ON status, when u turn on to reserve when it ur tank is empty, it can drain from ur reserve tank. Next, when the indicator starts blinking, it doesnt mean that it is draining ur fuel from ur reserve, it's just showing u that ur fuel level is on the low side, which is left 2~3litre of the full tank, 12litre. Maybe u can just try, turn ur knob to the on side, then run to blinking level, and then open up ur tank cap and see how much fuel still left, normally u should still see quite an amt of fuel there.. When it's blinking, u can still ride around 30~50km at least, which doesnt touch ur reserve yet. When ur bike suddenly start to die off, turn it to reserve mode, 1.4litre, with ur FC u still cna hit another 50km or so.

I believe wat shows in the manual is more accurate then asking here also. If the manual shows 12litre full tank and 1.4litre reserve, that's what we should get. Else we can log a complaint, cheating to customer? Asking here can be more accurate then manual? I doubt so.

It's standard, when it starts blinking, and u do a full pump, it's ard 9+ litre, i also got that before.
