Whats the difference between piston jam and piston seize? Yesterday I was going 150Km/h on my 125z then suddenly my back tire lock and everything shut down  I go road shoulder to start again then cannot start. after few mins can start. After that th fastest I can go is 60 km/h. Now got funny noises coming from my bike.. Any suggestions? Must overhaul already is it? Thanks to those who are keen to help me !:thumb:

150kmh? Nice. As replied by yeukeong, your piston seized causing it to jam. The funny noises is the sound of your rings scratching your cylinder's wall. Overhaul is needed.

hmmm.... i always tot jam is the piston stuck to your cyclinder...

seizure is maybe a jam den it becomes undone making the piston free to go up and down again...

seizure could also mean a hole in the piston head ( had this on my wr200)

piston break is the piston breaking into a few pieces... (had this on my wr200 also) hehehe

to our bro problem here, i think its a jam which caused the rear tyre to lock... thats why when i ride a 2 stroke. i always have 2 fingers on my clutch... i still do it when i ride a 4 stroke now... hehehe

I think the TS will need to change piston and block, and once you open the block den you can see whether you need to change con rod and bearing...

Cheers

Shoya, on the track and beyond,

we will always follow your lines.

Its best to change your piston and rebore the block. But this time around..pls make sure your carb micture is not too lean. Seizure could be due to lean mixture.
