Hi all... not sure if posting here is right. And i could be paranoid but since bike theft is always present better be safe than sorry..

This sunday afternoon, my SPY 2-way alarm sounded off. At first i paid no attention but the alarm was the extended kind. For those who don't own this alarm, the first alarm is a warning and is short. If the bike is agitated again, the alarm will sound for longer period with a variation is the sirens.

Being worried even though my bike is just a FZ150i, went down to check, sounding my alarm periodically to further deter anyone with wrong intentions, if any. When I reached, I immediately noted only 2 other bikes parking on the same level and they were parked on each side of my bike and thought maybe someone had parked his bike beside mine and woke the alarm. So I checked if the bike engines were hot. One was only mildly warm and it wasn't parked extremely close to mine so I ruled the 2 bikes out.

Just as I was leaving, I noted that on the same level, someone's car engine was on the whole time so went round to check if there was anyone around. Found the source to be that of a van. There were 2 guys sitting in the van, just lounging. Not sure if the driver was waiting for the van to warm up before driving off so I walked past it and went round to the end of the carpark. Since the van was the only one with anyone present, I retraced my steps and went to take note of the license number. Just as I was walking back, the driver started to drive off. Not sure if it's them, but just in case la. Their license plate number is GBA4903P.

This is in a multistorey carpark in Woodlands near the Singapore American School.

hurhurhur.. sorry ah... but i didn't really take note of the make and color of the van other than the license plate... but I remembered it's a light-colored van. either white or silver. has windows at the side windows at the cargo area.

yea lor. lucky nothing happened to my bike and i do hope it's just paranoia. but better be safe than sorry

Thanks for the warning. Always helps to have early warning from fellow Woodlanders :3

hurhurhur... my pleasure... cos i don't like scum who prey on others who worked hard for what they bought or put in so much effort and time to do up their bikes only to have people take it from them. but still don't know if it was really those guys in the van who kajiao my bike or not. may never know also

Thankfully my new place got "security guards". People love to sleep in the gardens and gazebos next to the MSCP. Bike enthusiasts also do DIY projects sometimes till late so it's not so deserted.

Lol any more of these "security issues" we need to form a Woodlands Vigilance Team. Kopitiam version of neighbourhood watch :p

Thanks for the warning. Will be extra careful when parking my bike in woodlands. I believe such syndicates will operate in an area rather than 1 place.

One tip for MSCPs - never, ever park in the middle decks (such as level 2-4). The relatively dark, enclosed and unpopulated spaces are obviously unsafe.

Avoid parking in quiet HDB estates where possible. The ones next to Causeway Point are quite notorious too. Some years back I parked my cub next to a brand new Pulsar. Apparently the Pulsar owner doesn't like cubs and I ended up with a small hole in the back tyre. It was only a short 1/2 hour visit to CP, heh.

Ironically, pavement parking and open field parking is -VERY- safe because of all the passersby :D Just see where others are 'borrowing space' and park with them.

Or just park in the middle of a damned field. Bike = art :D

Hahahah!! Then will see one lonely bike in the middle of the field decorated by fluttering white papers with interesting numbers on it also.

Yes i know which MSCP you're refering to - the one right in front of American School.

It is shared with 7-8 blocks and is always packed! I used to park there 2 years ago..

Here's my share of unfortunate events :

1.) My vespa's side box was forced open and the culprit poured my 2T all over the bike..

2.) My SP's (at that time) parking coupon is always stolen + P plates repeatedly stolen.

3.) My neighbour's RVF (It is a very beautiful RVF with a custom tail fairing that makes it look like an old R6) - my neighbour once came to the carpark only to find a van behind his bike while they were dismantling one of his parts. He proceeded to shout and give chase but the van went off fast.

Woodlands St 41 MSCP sure all hell need surveillance.

Ride safe..!

omg, i hope u dont discriminate pulsar.

anyway i hope that owner wasn't anybody i know, hate ppl who do these kind of idiotic acts.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?
