Hi guys,

This Monday i went to view a RVF and i decided to buy it.

We agreed upon the price as 3.2k.

So I paid the guy 1.5k cash deposit and he gives me the bike.

So, on Wednesday he ask me to pay the rest as he will transfer the name over to me on thursday.

But after paying up the rest of the cash he disappear on thursday, he off his phone and terminate the line.

He cut his hand phone line and i totally could not contact him at all.

His bike is still with me. What should I do?

I have the receipts for the withdrawing and transferring of cash to him ( or whoever the acct belongs to). Should i report to police?

During the viewing i have nv see his IC or logcard or whatsoever as it is a very rush viewing. Help me please.

Make a police report. Where is your NRIC/drivers license/insurance for this bike?

Go find out which name the bike is under.

Is the other person a SBF forumer?

to TS:

you've made no mention of how the bike physically came into your possession. it is perfectly plausible for the seller to have ridden the bike to your carpark and deposited it there in the process of 'scamming' you. i certainly dont mean to insinuate anything, but it is seriously illegal to ride the bike since your name confirm not in its insurance. therefore pls refrain from making any admission, especially on this forum, of how the bike came into your possession other than via the seller depositing it in your carpark.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

SBF Garage Sales Act

Please read Post #2, Clause 2f regarding posting sales on behalf of others. This is the main reason why the management of SBF has banned selling on behalf.

To All members: Please use the "Report Post" function should you find any posts selling in behalf.

To TS: Would advise you to go to the police.

The only solution is the police.

Go report and let them investigate. We pay tax! So don't feel shy to make a report.

1) Check physical possession of the bike and keys again.

2) Make the police report

3) Take the police report, contact LTA and advise them of this matter and to contact the owner of the bike. Be it the Bike shop or whatever.

4) Have the owner/bike shop remove the bike or negotiate how to handle the matter from there. The seller might come back and 'steal' the bike again to 'sell' again. And we dont want the TS here to be identified as the 'thief'.

Best I can think of now.

on the contrary isn it a better idea for TS to disc-lock his rear wheels and keep the bike at his car park as evidence until if/when police take over or matter settled with the seller? after all, even if the bike is fined for no coupon parking, the fines wont be incurred by TS as he is as yet not the registered owner, so it wont be of any cost to him. more so coz there is a possibility of the seller retaining a spare key and making off with the bike for a re-scam.

LOL.....TS knows how to Disc lock?

And he/she just mentioned that the bike is going for a swim. Chances are, he/she will eventually be identified as disposing of stolen property and dumping the machine in our friendly reservoir source.

rather then keep checking post here, just dont touch any thing more, call 999 or your neighborhood police centre.mean time just wait with the bike, i believe the police will arrive less then 30mins.the rest of the information the police will enquire from u.

I am not sure if it is a police case yet. Has the element of fraud been proven ?

It is best to confirm the bike status with LTA, then trace and contact the registered owner before planning for the next course of action.

To Safe guard urself ,try to perform the following fast.

1. Police Report now with all document proof u hv.

2. Do not ride the bike.

3. Lock the bike as much as u can to prevent scam form taking the bike away.Do perform task on s/n 1& 2 FAST. Do ask where can u compound the bike as scam artist can lift the whole bike to a 6 footer truck in just a few minutes.

4. Free time do check with LTA on the bike info & see what they can help. Likely not.

5. Wait for investigation,verdict.

Lastly, MOD can u provide the victim of "Kang" IP address so as he can provide to the police.Hope this can help.

Good luck bro

first of all, i dont see how anyone can "donno how to disc lock".

second of all.... i am assuming TS is speaking metaphorically. coz if he literally means throwing it into sea/lake/reservoir.... TS you've really gone nuts. from innocent victim of $3k scam you can tio illegal dumping and getting rid of evidence etc etc.
