I used to cycle a lot too. The aggressive kind, so i assumed i would have little difficulty learning how to ride. Balancing was easier but handling was definitely different due to the weight.

I took loads of circuit practices. Its a confidence+muscle memory thing and most likely it'll show on your test itself

all you need is confidence in yourself. seen some students took more than 13 seconds on the figure 8. must be confident while going for the courses. eye point, not wobbling while moving off really plays a part when doing those courses. once you guys done with prac 3 part 2, i suggest you to go for more circuit revisions. i rather fork out $$ on circuit revisions rather than failing on-road lessons Zzz

Hi there, I'm doing lesson 3pt2(repeat) on 3Nov morning.

I'm not good in crank n s course. Bike wobble. I din control the throttle well.

The rest is ok. I'm a cyclist so I tot handling is the same but aft all these lesson,

I felt is different...

The handling bet motorbike and bicycle is quite different, for bicycle we simply shift our body weight to balance easily, but bike is much heavier than our body so we must suit our body and handling to the bike's force and weight to balance...

I always have wobbly issue when coming to crank course.

Wondering if I should change to 2nd gear before entering the course or should I maintain 1st gear then change to 2nd gear after I've turn in?

Change gear 2 before entry, once u enter u just maintain speed... About 20-30kmh enough to get pass in 6 sec... And remember not to throttle or close the throttle when in the crank course... It cause the wobbling...

Thanks for the advice and I think I got the hang of it with my own style.

I actually throttle with 1st gear then turn in with clutch in, follow by gear up before the 2nd turn.

Once I turn right, I'll release clutch with some throttle and change signal at the same time. :)

then before exiting, check left and right for traffic, and check blindspot right then turn :)

patience is the key to success. take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes, go for more circuit and road revisions. always remember to check your blindspot on every turn and your safety checks, course timings are important as well. any doubts on your handling of the motorcycle/riding habits, feel free to ask here!

Thanks man, was feeling very very down until I encounter this thread. Read all the posts from page 1-5.. Very relatable and self comforting at the same time. Hais, no choice lor the s course I kana 4 pt for taking 11 sec Liao.. Then under moving off / stopping kana 12! Incorrect posture, delay in moving off, wobble when stopping and moving off. Fail to change appropriate gear before turning and stopping 4 pts, at junction don't know anyhow give me tick at incorrect positioning and cause inconvenience to cross traffic!! Wtf.. Then blind spot - 4 pt, fail to look out for traffic at junction - 4 pt and lastly fail to cancel signal - 4 pt. to be honest some they tick idk when did I commit those faults la.. Testers blind or something.. Then 2 girls told me they fail cos one beat red light in circuit the othe almost fell then right foot touch ground, in the end pass.. **** man!!

for course timings, improve on your eyepoint, grip your tank for better stability.

moving off - check back(turn your head to make sure the tester see) some do check back like check blindspot Zz

wobble when stopping/moving off and fail to change appropriate gear = the key to get all rid of all this mistakes is to, release more of your clutch and throttle more. more acceleration= less wobble, easier to kick up to 2nd gear.

incorrect positioning - ALWAYS stay in the MIDDLE of the lane, be it while riding in the circuit, on road. when on the filtering lane, always stay in the middle. who knows some idiot driver go squeeze beside you in the end u kena points. remember to stay in the right turn pocket, so it wont cause any inconvenience.

fail to check blindspot - this one always standard common mistake made by all learners. every turn check blindspot, especially in the circuit since all eyes are on you. small turn also check blindspot. better check than getting points...

all i can advise is you is to go for circuit revisions more, especially days before your tp, so your 'skills' are still fresh. treat every circuit, on road revisions as if its your tp test. practice more on the courses that your are weak in. :) any questions can ask in this thread. cheers~
