[SSDC] Class 2B (2011)

hi all, im new around here and just finished my 1st lesson.

 

Is lesson 1 split into different parts? im unsure whether i passed lesson 1 but i finished everything taught to me smoothly. if you passed and try to book your lessons, it should state the next lesson right? e.g mine should be "lesson 2"?

 

wanted to find out if there are also other lessons that are split up like that; was thinking it would be better if i can just book 2 lessons in adv since now all slots seem fully booked :

iirc, lesson 1 there are two parts if they think u need more practice. first part is ride in the small circle in low gear and stopping at line. 2nd part is riding around the circuit and playing with higher gears.

ssdc lesson 2 is narrow plank and slalom pylon.

 

personal experiences:

 

- narrow plank - look far, 1st gear go towards plank. once front wheel to half the bike on plank, free-wheel through the plank while tapping on rear brake to control speed(yes. u r allowed to freewheel through as long as u meet timing requirement)

 

- slalom - quarter-stand on bike and weave through. lean the body slighly towards the direction. tap footbrake to control speed.

dont worry bro, patience is always the key to success. no point if you there's a slot, you book. but (touch wood) fail the lesson. in the end gotta wait for the next slot. whatever it is, always be focused for your next lesson as it would get more interesting waiting time for tp test date more jialat leh!

i also took my lesson 1 last night and need to go back for it again for more practice... anyway just wanna check with you guys have ever the instructors checked on personal helmet? cos my helmet was bought from malaysia and doesn't have the approved sticker... i wanna use my own helmet...

While i was taking my 2b,the instructors didnt check on our helmets though. Only for visors which were tinted. Whats your helmet brand btw?

Instructors will never check, but the TP will fail you on the test if they notice. They very rarely do - I have only seen them check helmets if they were not properly secured.

Then be smart, when your tp test wear an approved psb helmet. Better still use the helmet that the school provides

Haha my helmet brand is nova. Quite common so I guess they may not check. Since many of you say instructors doesn't do such checks often during lessons, I shall hiong it for my next lesson. Tp then I'll borrow a licensed helmet bah.

Hi Bros Sis,

 

Today 21/2/13 8.15am i had passed my 1st TP attempt at SSDC, 12 demerit points total.

Spent $1,000 overall from 30/8/11, plus road revision and circuit and it helps me build up on my riding skills with confident.

The instructors are nice, patient too. Yes i will go back next year for class 2A!

During my time ssdc , theory not in sequence as long as u completed all 4 lessons. Apply PDL start attend orientation course start practical lesson 1

U can complete your theory lessons in any order. A tip: To complete your theory lessons faster, you can also attend chinese language lessons, it also counts. I rmb out of 4 theory lessons, 2 were taken in chinese. I completed the compulsory theory lessons in shorter time. I was the youngest student in those chinese theory lessons.... the classmates were all uncles and aunties mid 40+ onwards ...

Yes, even though attended the compulsory EFC, passed 2b license. We still need to learn , build up riding skills and ride carefully on the streets and highway, our loved ones are waiting for us at home.

So basically for example you take your TP on 25/07/2013. Your EFC would be straight on the same day as your TP test.. I knew my results at around 1130am... the EFC is from 1-3pm.. After the EFC, you are then able to apply for your licence..
