bros, asking on behalf of my frn, anyone knows where can i get blackbird side panniers? any recommendations for touring?

bro, i would recommend you to get a rjay or viper saddle bag. They are easy to mount and easy to take out. Very useful for touring. Used it for my thailand trip. Reach hotel, unmount it and bring the bad to my room. Once back in SG, i remove the bag (sg need to lane split often)... hehe

yup i understand bro... my frn have a saddle bag liao but this time round he needs a hard case side panniers instead cus he's bringing his wife up for our trip... the saddle bag he got is blocking the pillion foot rest...

he's not a IT savvy guy at all but only know how to ride... hence i'm here to ask on his behalf... still, thanks sujak bro... appreciates... ;)

no prob bro.. in dat case.. ask him to get the viper saddle bag.. my fren rode with me with his wife.. side panniers will cost alot more.. saw a bb using a givi and givi wing rack.. If im not wrong, it shud cost abt 1.6k.. not too sure if i remembered it correctly... but definitely more than 1k.. while the viper saddle bag cost abt $100 which is much more cost effective.. ask him to give it a try first and see if ders space for his wife.. no harm in gg down to the shop and try to fix it on.. hehe..

Hi guys.... i new here... juz got myself a blackbird. but i m facing this problem. for my full tank it is only 14ltr to 15ltr only... can u guys help me with this?

Hi and welcome,

Some things I'll check are:

1) Are you running the stock ECM or a piggyback system?

2) Are you running stock exhausts?

3) Look at the end of the exhaust cans, are there any blackish stains around the exhaust can?

4) Is it air filter dirty?

5) Count the front and rear sprocket teeth, are they the stock number?

6) Put the bike in neutral and push it back and forth, are the brakes binding?

7) Is tyre pressure correct?

Try checking these and telling us what you find. All the best!

can i piggy back on his question too...

1) Are you running the stock ECM or a piggyback system? Stock ECM

2) Are you running stock exhausts? Nope

3) Look at the end of the exhaust cans, are there any blackish stains around the exhaust can? When using my stock, theres a blackish stain even after wiping them off with degreaser

4) Is it air filter dirty? Have not check them yet

5) Count the front and rear sprocket teeth, are they the stock number? nope.. the rear is 44 the front is 13 i think..

6) Put the bike in neutral and push it back and forth, are the brakes binding? Nope

7) Is tyre pressure correct? Tyre pressure pumped weekly at 40psi

my bike fc is about 11km/l if shuttling from tampines to pasir ris (10 mins ride only) but will be able to hit 15km/l if shuttling between tampines to NTU/NIE (abt 30 mins cruising at 90 to 100km/h)

This is how i check my fc.

1) Top Up Full Tank

2) Reset mileage

3) Use the Bike for a few days

4) Top up full tank again and note the amount of petrol from the petrol pump counter (usually about 21l)

5) calculate fc by taking mileage/amt of petrol top up ( 230km / 21L = 11km/L)

Am going to send my bike for some servicing on the throttle body and synchronising it at bike werks for $80..

Thanks for your input.. jus got my bb a few weeks ago.. :p hahaaa

Oh yah, the last thing I'd check are the plugs. You can tell a lot about the engine condition / fueling just by looking at the colour on the plugs and comparing the 4 of them (of course we'd need to remember which plug came from which cylinder).

Throttle body synchro is a good idea too. I'd check the free stuff first, cheap stuff 2nd, and more expensive stuff last.

What model year is your blackbird?...Some 2000 above blackbirds have 1999 tanks..So instead of having a 24L tank,it have a 21L tank.
