I chose to ride ... And I chose to Ride Hard and Ride Safe ... On a BLACKBIRD.

A friend of mine used shinko for his weekly trips to shah alam to meet his wife there..what he can say wet weather CMI if you ride like ur using pilot road but since he clock high miles..he dunt mind the cheap tyres...

I've been sticking to pilot road 2..and now using 3..superb wet weather performance but dry weather hard siao cornering bike abit shaky compare to the road 2..only time she fails me when i met to stripes of garbage truck water..low side and do disco on the tarmac..

I dunno whether u can use a 2nd hand iu unit?,might as well get a new one come with warranty summore.

Delinking of brakes is up to individual,if u play track den its considered troublesome. Its considered the safety features for the blackbird.Like i say,its up to individual....

My orgasm starts at 299km/h.....

Personal ride -

1st ride - TRZ 125

2nd ride - GSXR-K

3rd ride - CBR400RN

3rd ride - Super 4(S)

4th ride - R1

5th ride - CBRXX1100:thumb:

My friend told me that if u delink the bikes, Fi light will come out bcoz it will detect the brake. Is that correct?

Just to share, earlier on i went to bikeworks accompany to repair his bike battery n rectofier problem...den he casually asked ah beng how much for bb valve clearance,i got a shock when ah beng said $120....i had to ask again to triple confirm n he said yes $120 but not inclusive of timing chain tensioner n all the rest.just valve clearance....so i told him i just replaced my timing chain n tensioner n camcover or ring for $250. He said y nvr do valve clearance as well.i said i cant leave my bike for 2-3 day to do valve clearance coz its my mode of transport...

When i re calculate back...if he charge valve clearance only $120 n i just rplaced ny timing chain n tensioner for $250 tat means the whole thing cost abt $370 only sia...just like the price of overhauling my rxz last time....

Can use 2nd hand iu but not worth it unless u get the iu for free or damn cheap...to my understanding,a second hand iu can cost abt $50-$80.the iu must come from a deregistered bike.and to transfer the iu to ur bike, theres admin fee of abt $15 i tink....a new iu cost $155 + 5yrs warranty....again im not too sure lah if my understanding of the iu issue is right or not.coz i also nvr experiances it before just made some enquiries only to lta rgding this iu issue few yrs back...

de-linking of brakes...is it necessary?

Nope..dont need..i delinked mine but i still prefer link brakes for touring....some riders delink as they feel that its better when carving corners like madman, rear sliding is easier with delink than link brakes..but when doing e brake on delink brakes, its abit much scarier..

Hope you dont get confused reading my post..heheh!!

Wanna earn extra bro..but nowdays even my bike projects kena hold..coz still syiok taking care of my newborn..for bikeworks its best to send your bike during mondays to wednesday as not much jobs around...

The last time i did diy valve clearance on my bike it took me the whole sat morning till afternoon...that havent include me taking out the camshaft and valve buckets to replace the shim or shims...

Lots of things need to take out tank, airbox, sparkplugs, both side fairings, throttle body, camshaft cover and timing cover. When changing shims need to take out camshaft and valve bucket..PHEEEEWWWWW!!!..

Shinko is definitely not bad. Jus my experience from previous 2 shinkos the thread dont last as long as premium tyres and it is slippery after the tyres have been used for a while. So be careful if ure deciding on it.
