Hey guys... need help on a minor problem, but its just driving me crazy for the past 3 days! argh! hahaha! Its the chain... i noticed it kinda vibrate, or "jump" when i'm riding it, well i know that its normal, time to tighten a slack chain, but problem is, chain's not slack, and it vibrates sideways, if you know wad i mean. so i tot something gotta do with the alignment. so i adjusted it myself. same thing... then i adjust till "jun jun" but still same thing. Noticed that if viewed from behind, there a gap between the rearwheel hub (the piece where the 3 spokes meet) and brake caliper mounting. the gap in between is not constant when the wheel is spinning. Mech say manufacture rims not 100%, got some slight inconsistant defects. some parts thicker some thiner. he say not important as the important part is the rims itself. i also noticed the sprocket is not rotating straight, its like swaying left and right abit, just slightly only. i dunno about this... someone clarify that?

Then i noticed that when i hold the chain and turn the rear wheel while on centrestand, there's this vibrating feeling like "tek tek tek". so i tried to adjust again. but still fail. fustrated, while on centrestand with engine on...i put it into 1st gear and watch the chain. i delibrately make it super tight, and then super loose, and then just nice, all same results... anyone can help? it's travel pattern is some how like this: -----~~~~~--------~~~~~~~-----------~~~~~~~----- btw the chain is some lousy dunno wad brand chain and sprocket "given" by the motor tiam when i bought the bike. last time my super4 i DIY tighten chain also not liddat leh, very simple job.

So... i wld like to know if any of you guys exp the same thing. and also if the problem is to do with the "sungei road" chain and sprocket set or has it got to do with more serious thing like swingarm alignment? if that is so, jialat lor, but i think chances very slim.

i suspect the lousy no brand chain and sprocket. wad do you guys think? pls help! hahaha! thanks guys! its driving me nuts not being able to solve it. thanks! :weep:

my bet will be...

time to change sprocket liao.

chain too... due to uneven wear and tear

lousy chain will damage the best sprocket and vice versa.

and check the rear hub as well

and while you're at it, add a scottoiler to protect your investment if u are thinking of riding it for more than a year.

put it on main stand.. try to shake ur rear tyre... does it shake? no.. ok.. yes..check ur wheel bearings..

it might also be tat ur spocket n chain are due for a change...front spocket teeth.. might be worn out too..

btw... ask ur mech... which company dares to supply customer with defects? QAQC is to make sure tat all items are in good state b4 its moved out..Honda aint going to take such risk...

Chiap Lee is located at 590 Serangoon Road ... its before the traffic junction with Lavender Street ... one of the shops on the right hand side of the road ... tel: 6294 7922

Givi Rack + a set of E41s + installation will cost close to $1k ... and got to wait for around 2 mths for the stuff to arrive :hungry:

hmmm... put it on mainstand, shake the wheel, doesn't shake, firm. wheel bearings just changed not even a month ago at HKL when changing tyres. chain and sprocket set changed FOC by workshop about 2mths ago when took out bike. scott oiler installed since day one of new chain. hmm.... lousy chain set also cost at least $150 leh but last lest than 2mths? thats horrible. so in this case, isit the chain and sprocket problem? i hope it is, haha any other problem is gonna burn some pockets. oh ya... unless the mech at HKL didn't change the bearings. cos i couldn't see them change as they did it near the balancing machine. but i saw the mech knocking and etc... machiam like doing wheel bearing. but i can't confirm that, but i gave them the benefit of doubt.

Attention all riders. A word of caution. Should you go into JB by 1st link that is through Woodlands checkpoint, please ride carefully and slowly once you passed the JB customs. It seems that there are a LOT of potholes and gravel once you exit the customs especially at the U-turn and into Jalan Wong Ah Fook. Even the roads after the flyover towards JB customs heading to Singapore suffer the same problem. The roads must have been made of low quality products that after many days of rain, the ground just softened and break under pressure from all the vehicles. Luckily I noticed the problem, if not sure buang. Just ride slow and steady guys... :goodluck: :thumb:

First learn stand, then learn fly. Nature's rules biker-sans. Not mine...
