Or carry a small back pack everywhere. If there's a will there's a way. Using a bike cover is the best easiest way to prevent rust when rain. Unless you can park in sheltered carpark.

agree to the max~!

I bought a dry waterproof bag just to put my stuff and also the bike cover.

1) the dry waterproof bag able to protect my belonging when raining. (i got no box at the moment for my fz16)

2) the dry waterproof bag also can hold my bike cover. (no need for me to go back to my house to put the bike cover and head down back to my bike)

Someone should invent small flat hard case that can be attached to back seat with lock so you can leave it there when you go off.

Hey ts, I used to use autosol but meguairs products are better. Also, bike cover is essential to keep a bling bike or a covered carpark. Avoid riding on wet roads and rain. No 2 ways around it.

Already got, but it's customised, can't buy off the shelf, looks like a letter box.

Don't use cover under shelter. The cover probably keep the moisture in making it rust.

bike covers are preventive measures to avoid further rusts, ts wants to know more about removing them I believe. I'd use wd40 and fine sand paper to get rid deep and uneven rusts. but for small rusts just use autosol and newspaper to polish as per normal, then wax if got time. It does restore the chrome and last longer..and hope it doesn't rain..

It works for my 29 year old rx-k.. and it kinda feels good after a long day of polishing haha

Hi Bro,

I used Selleys RUST FIX on all my rust items on my bike. It really works.

1.You have to clean the rust off by using Autosol polish with an old tooth brush.

2.Once dry use another tooth brush to brush off the surface.

3.Then apply the Rust Fix solution on it, the rusted area will be blacken.

4.Let it dry for few hours.

5.Wash it off using water.

Another alternative is use Diesel and brush on rusted area.

Then clean with soap and flash with water.

Cautious - make sure that all brakes are free from any diesel or other solution which might cause slippery in braking.

Get a rust remover and a scrapper. Spray the rust remover on affected area and slowly scrap the rust out. Then simply maintain with WD40. Spray WD40 on a cloth and wipe on affected area every week or fortnightly... should be enough to keep the rust away :)

I use this :

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/staticproductimage//N3303/large/7110766_ttl_t280ra_pri_larg.jpg

Wash the parts that are rusty

If there's too much rust, sand paper a bit

Apply the chrome polish

Wait 5min

Wipe it off, the rust will come off

Apply for longer time on many times if a lot of rust

And I put some of it and leave it there to dry on spots I know the rust comes back: It acts as a protective film and the rust doesn't come back.

Yes. Firstly, its white. after dusting off, it may stick to other parts of your body. Annoying if you're a petty person like me.

The bottle cost less than $5.

Use it on plastic chrome parts(which is aplenty on a phantom) and you will get small dots on your chrome. Ask any seasoned ta rider. They'd tell you the same (:

I'm using meguairs alu and mag polish. ($20) Works awesome( if autosol is 5/10, this is 7.2/10) abit pricey I know.

The problem with autosol is that its very abrasive and thus, the chrome parts oxidise rather fast in return. This one stays shiny longer.

Of course, Dont expect a 1 X application and it stays chrome forever, try not getting your bike exposed to elements too much and wipe off especially after rain.

Try to apply a protective layer after polishing.

I used to invest in shampoo and wax but i find the process too tedious in our tropical climate.

Now, i use pledge. Its a little oily but after wiping that layer off, the shine is crazy.Subsequent wipes are also easier. it beads water and the shine is fulfilling. You can use it on chrome and even your seats.

Washing is a thing of the past for me now.

You can do a google on pledge and motorcycles. You'd get alot (:
