oh sh!t! means balance or not is a matter of luck :faint:

anyone knows where to get our 13" tires balanced? :help:

can never. cos there is no bearings in your rear rim. only can balance your front.

AGreed, it's a matter of money... willing to pay, it will be done... sometimes they give stupid excuses just to make ife easier for themselves....

Just like 2 days ago, the Mech filling my bike with engine oil put in 2.3 litres. I told him it is 2.2 litres according to the manual, he said manual is wrong?? WTF? I said, then it is ME that wants 2.2 so he drew 100ml out

after changing your oil, start your bike for a while allowing the oil to run, stop the engine, let it rest for an hour, then check your engine oil level via the provided dip-stick or see-through glass panel. see whether oil enough or not. to me, the shop has done enough Silverwings to justify why the need to add 100ml more. your manuel is just a guide.

1 example. had a Burgman 650. bought brand new. using the above method, every time check the engine oil level after changing, always at min level. have to add 150 - 200ml then can bearly reach the top level.

OK, I will check. Thanks for the advice.

not true. its because there is no bearings in the rear rim.

most scooters whose final drive is belt driven, have no bearings in the rear rim. thus unable to do tire balancing.

so does that mean no balancing can be done for scoots' rear tire, but can do for front tire?

SW is my first scoot... still got lots to learn :cheeky:

yes. unless u can fabricate a bearing for the rear, lock it in place, b4 slotting it into the tire balancing machine.

So meaning if got squeaky noise when moving off, we can just ignore it? No big damage to bike in long term?

for me i just ignore it. if you can afford it you change the clutch but if you don't feel like spending the money you can take it out and clean it the sound would disappear for awhile.

there is one silverwing forum stating that the sound can be get ride with some modification on the clutch.

i have a question, but maybe still too early to ask cos of ur guys bikes mileage are still new & low.

Cos silverwing is a twin cylinder engine similar like a bike. Have u guys done the recommended periodic valve clearance & timing adjustment at 40,000km yet?

Cos it can't run forever without maintenance bah i guess. The engine will be quite noisy similar to big bikes

I hope i dun get fook again for posing this question :sian:

This is the twin cylinder horizontal mount engine of the tmax. Engine same as conventional bikes liao.

U all refering to the wheel bearing thingy in the center core of your rim? If yes, then there is. Two in total, left and right. Mine showing signs of rusty when they dismantle my front rim for tire changing. So i change it also. Damage 30 bucks for 2.

For everyone's info, my mileage is 29k + when i change.

TH lor

yeah, went for a few runs last night to check out the new EO; tested stationary take off, acceleration on the move and higher rpms (not near the red zone of course). hey, worth a try :thumb:

here's my comparisons between LM & ME, both fully synthetic EO:

* although both oils are of same weight at 50, the LM 10w50 feels much lighter than the ME 15w50 which i was previously using. you can tell the diff in oil's viscousity straight away by shaking the bottles and when pouring; layman term means LM is more "watery". 10w40? no no, LM's 10w40 is only semi syn.

* idling: don't know if its just psychological, i tot the engine sounded a small fraction louder at idling. but hey, the tacho showed idling revs remained pretty steady... a good start

* taking off: bike felt much lighter when moving off from stationery. tot this is normal since the oil is less viscous, giving less resistance to flow and allowing the engine parts to move through with less effort. nevertheless, this alone cannot be used to judge an EO.

* acceleration on the move: in theory, the bike should become more responsive but i can't really tell the difference in this area. tested 3 zones; from 40 to 70kph, from 60-90kph and from 80-110+kph (simulating an overtaking situation). not sure, tot i felt the improvement only at higher rpms.

* smoothness: yeah... this one! especially at higher rpms, the more "watery" liqui gave me a much smoother ride. really enjoyed the runs last night and the cruise to work from west to east along 5 connecting expressways this morning.

* durability: just started using, so totally no idea how long this EO can sustain its performance over time... 5k? 8k? 10k?
