Thanks bro, for the comprehensive reply! :thumb:

I clocked 200plus km today on my scoot today.

Went for a short touring. Had lunch at Taman Uni.

Then went to Kluang via NSH then trunk road.

Then back using a trunk toad that is super duper damn freaking winding... Must have turn at least 60 to 80 turnings, with alot of ups and downs (dun know the road name, just followed a ST rider.)

Reach Woodlands CP, realised that its jam. Detour to second link again.

Travelling by trunk road think definitely will lose out to road bikes alot.

Somwmore SW is heavy..

My mileage is at abt 1700km now.

Eh, come to think of it, i think i run in abit too fast.

Hit only 140km/hr with pillion. No opportunity to go further as traffic was quite heavy today, dun know why.

Windshield started vibrating significantly at 130km/hr.

Travel at abt 110 to 120km/hr on NSH.

Think i had trashed my SW, feeling guilty. :giddy:

Gonna wash my bike tmr.. My windshield is a mess now, dead insects etc

Talking abt winding roads, you've got more to clear this coming Jan. See u then.

did anyone experience backfire when the bike slows down to a speed about 2.5 - 3k rpm..... just when the biting point is about to disengaged?

I always have that.... since i got my old bike...

I wonder if can do tuning or something?

Backfiring is a sure sign of your ignition being slightly retarded and/or fuel injection/carburation being out of sync. Any changes to the exhaust system could also be the culprit - Too much backfiring will cause leakage between the cylinder head / engine block and eventually it will loose compression / power.

Hi,

Do we need to wipe our windshield with any kind of polisher?

How do we maintain the condition of our windshield?

I used this for my windshield. After applying, can see a protective coat the surface of your windshield.

What is BACKFIRE ? - Its Pops & Bangs like Mini explosions from your exhaust whenever you shut the throttle from a higher speed. In severe cases is known to blow the Muffler off the exhaust pipe.

Maybe you should change the plugs to Iridiums / get a new K&N Air Filter / Check out the CVT belt etc at one go before you Do the Sync test. It may also be that you got some water in your fuel tank - that may be causing backfiring. If so you will need to drain / clean / dry before refill again with clean fuel. There are several water finding pastes / strips available that you could use - try the various DIY hardware shops & dont feel shy to ask !!

Is there a recommended interval to do a sync test? Are most motortiams able to do it? Cost?

Most of the Bigger/Better big bike shops could do it if they have the tools/equipment and mechanics that know how to do it. Cost could be around 100 bucks if nothing else needs to be done. I prefer DIY - and for this need the necessary tools / meters and a good workshop manual like the one printed by HAYNES. Sometimes if lazy i go KL and get a workshop in PJ do it. Singapore - i think Boon Siew or any of the Looi's workshops can do it. Sorry if i never mention other bike shops but i must confess i really dont know them.

I am talking the MRA short windscreen. The K&N air box filter is much cheaper.

FJS 600 and FJS 400 uses the same filter ! and almost everything else is the same, minus the roller weights for what i know so far..

2 roads diverged into a wood, and I-I took the road less traveled and that makes all the difference!
