yes, mine is Euro, at 150km/hr, my handle bar vibrating already..

at 135plus still ok..

Agreed with you that with pillion must safe ride.:thumb:

its the trottle control. i've got 2 friends, both almost double your size, 1 with box, the other one without, both can hit 180 on a flat and trottle not full yet. btw both were riding without pillion and still can tail my 650.

Hi,

Just came back from the day trip to Malacca..

Realised that i can only go at 150km/hr with pillion.

Is it normal?

Understand that SW top speed is 170plus. (think should be rider only, minus pillion)..

Any one can share? :)

it is very normal if u haven't master your trottle control. i've seen a silverwing with pillion clocking abt 170km/hr when i was riding my burger 400 at 165km/hr.

no need to tune anything..cos got O2 sensor. Price i PM Ni+3KiDz already..

but to fully utilise the after market exhaust, be it a full or slip on, its good to have a PC to re-map the system.

maybe u need to do wheel balancing or check the weights on your front rim to see if its still there. maybe your steering is not properly tighten also. might be the setting on your rear shocks also. wat number u set on your rear shocks?

Never dare to try scooter ride on north-south highway. Concern is the light-weight and small wheels of this bike : Able to withstand strong wind and big hole in the road?

:giddy:

Use to ride Honda Translap 400 to Kl,Kuantan, malacca during the young day.(single and free guys at that time)

Hate when it rain at highway but enjoy great scenery of Malaysia and long straight road without paying the toll. hehe:angel:

Now: Silver Wing GT 400

2s: paggio hexagon 150, Honda helix 250, yamaha majesty250, Honda forza 250, paggio x9 500,Silverwing 400 JDM,Silverwing 400 euro, Silverwing GT400.

i don't see a problem when lotsa scooters have been going up & down NSHW & going thru trunk road in Malaysia already. adding to that, alot have even went up to Thailand. :thumb:

for the big hole definitely you gotta be extra careful due to the small wheels on scooters.

but big hole in some situation can be a hazard to big wheelers too.

FYI, soon there will be one SW600 going to clear the Thailand Loop. :lovestruck:

tried my swing400 at 165kph (flat ground) with pillion and box. very near redline rpm already. not sure if it can go faster.

stability no problem... but my suspension was too soft.. will bottom out on uneven road with the pillion weight.

Could it be the spark plug? Hmmm...

I will change my stock spark plugs and see if there is any difference again... :)

There are different Scooters around, some scooters have big wheel (same size as normal bikes), some scooters are heavy!

FYI, Silverwing is heaver than Honda Translap... weighting as 218kg dry.

paiseh... didn't catch an exact rpm reading... was too focused on the traffic & road condition on the NSHW. My swing was stock except for grounding and voltage stabiliser. would like to re-try solo without the maxia box... see can get better results or not. hee

Yes maybe it is your plugs - check the gap carefully and make sure you tighten them correctly but not too tight. The trick is to put a little high melting point grease on the threads of the plugs and tighten. Then again if you are using lower octane fuel (92 or 95) might be better for high speed to go to 97 or 98. Also dont mess with the idling speed adjustment - even 1400rpm is ok. Last but not least the standard Air Filter is a bit restrictive - perhaps you try the K&N.

My 2006 SW400 (reg Nov 07) could reach 170 no problem - but no Breadbox behind and rear suspension MUST be set harder. As for the plugs go for Nippon Denso Iridium (model Number IUH 24).

The throttle control they are talking about refers to opening TOO full throttle to fast - open gradually and back off slightly when nearing max RPM then open again - never just hold the throttle against the STOP - it actually is a smaller opening than at say 95% open - for full throttle operation You would need to make sure that the cable is adjusted right and butterfly valve exactly horizontal at max opening.
