Moved off from GP Esso at 5.30am and reached Hatyai around 5.30pm (12 hrs :cry: ) was traveling at an average speed of 120 kmp.

 

Lets see how far can we travel tomorrow :bounce:

I used to use SAE 80/90, but after i found out from the manual, i changed if back to 10W40..when i drain out, the visocity of the oil very much diff. From my 1st change, so i believe the gear oil SW is using is 10W40..and the manual states too..

 

thats very very weird. but never the less, hope u are right. which shop do u normally frequent?

if you see the owner manuel the engine oil the recommand is also SAE10/30.

which most of us use 40 or 50.

Pg 96 owner manual - Can use 10w-30 or 10w-40. The latter for hotter atmospheric temperatures.

Owner manual does not state what final drive oil to use. If anyone has found that info in owner manual, pls let us know.

 

Recko's info on transmission oil change is not extracted from our owner manual.

owner's manual did not state gear oil..cos mine's euro model too. but saw part of the page from the web.. :smile:

Didn't expect a debate over this topic. Anyway, my intention is to let Sensible know that there's a need to change gear oil and instructions on how to change it. I myself used Maxima's Synthetic Gear Oil (75w90) previously too, mine was a 2nd hand bike, no manual to follow at all, but no issues using it as well cause I don't think there'll be a problem.

 

If anyone feel using the other rating is ok, then go ahead, if your manual says this and you feel the info is reliable, just continue with it. After all it's all abt sharing and exchanging knowledge in here. :D

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

AGREED !!!

 

Just to share my previous SWs i used Synthetic 75w90 oil in final drive (Chemlube) and the internals upon strip down in tip top condition. But in colder climate - i.e. Japan or Europe maybe i would recommend that You use 10w30.

i know burgman 400 and X8 can put 2 helmets and raincoats.

somemore can put a big box behind.

 

saw a SW on the road behind, it's really fast.

seems like it can cruise at quite a high speed and go touring too.

ok i get your point.. let me rephrase a little: which is the fastest scoot to get from 0-100kmph? basically just interested to find out how does that particular scoot will fare against a s4 in "breaking away" from the cars when at the traffic light..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

*burgman 400 from K3 to K6 runs on a single cylinder SOHC engine. top speed is only abt 162km/hr.

*dunno abt the K7 onwards cos it runs on a single cylinder DOHC engine. Same as the Grand Majesty 400. this 2 top speed should be abt the same.

*fastest 2A scooter is the Honda Silverwing 400 Euro version. Top abt 180km/hr.

*Silverwing 400 Euro should have a better top speed comparing with the X8 400. Cos the Silverwing runs on a twin cylinder DOHC engine. the mid to top is better. X8 400 runs on a single cylinder engine.
