uuhhhh. bros. got alot of things especially on topics of modifications and maintanence to ask.

1st. issit advisable to get a single rear suspension? and why have i seen certain runners having that kind of single suspension (one sided lah). what brand of suspension do they use?

2nd. what kind or brands of suspension is suitable of DNA? i've noticed that the DNA suspension is alot longer than normal bikes? any affordable yet good suspension to consider?

3rd. GPR pipe used for Runner VXR is it the same for usage of DNA too?

4th. issit the Malossi Big Bore kit you guys mentioned once, the stock carb in Runner VXR 200?

5th. which shops do you guys usually go to, for basic maintenance like changing of belts or rewiring or mods? which one is heavily recommended. cos i've been switching shops very frequent. sometime even i dunno whether do they know what r they doing. hehe.

6th. other than changing EO & Spark Plug is there other parts of basic maintenance i have to pay attention to?

7th. and for servicing carb, when do i know the carb is dirty or faulty? or when it needs cleaning? or when do i know the bike isn't running as how it should?

thanks for spending time on this long post. hehehe.

do put ur $0.02 here alright.......!!

and yes. i am still riding my dna. can't let it go. =)

I'll answer question by question.

1) It can be done, but it is not a good idea, especially if you always pillion. Best to leave it as it is.

2) Never go wrong with stock shocks, but anything that is about the same in length is fine, make sure there is clearance available as the oil container on the shocks tend to "bump" into things.

3) Yes, it can be used, but you may need to change a few stuff. No one here has tried it yet, all of us bought it new.

4) Erm carb? Big bore means a bigger piston and cylinder, bigger diameter piston, stroke length remains the same if I am not wrong as the bike still uses the same crankshaft. Bike just needs rejetting.

5) This is a grey area. Different scooterist follow different "faiths", ops, I mean shops. Up to you, I have always been a Win Jing fan.

6) EO, sparkies, air filter, oil filter, coolant, brake pads, belt, roller, u-clips, rear hub oil, wheel bearings, etc. Change batteries occasionally too.

7) Most can "feel" when their carbs are dirty. Or if you want to play it safe, just get the shop to clean it out once a year. Normally with a carb it is "stand by carb". They fully strip the carb, clean it out and change parts that are worn.

wen i had that problem the other time...the mechanic found a leaking pipe...so it is probably the same thing...common problem or not, im not sure but its probably due to wear n tear....

niwae any of u dna guys face the following problem...wen i fill up my petrol tank, if i pump too fast n a little too much, the petrol overflows not from the cap but from the sides of the black tank below...if i pump slowly n be wary of how much i pump, this does not happen...is anything wrong with my bike or was it just the way i pump?

last of all, thinking of changing pipe...gpr or leovince? any recommendations...im looking for something that does not change the fuel consumption much and is not noisy...im very much in love with how silent my dna is with is stock pipe...

woit.. niway, go to shop and found out that the top rubber sealing of the fuel tank is worn off.. dont know how.. to replace, change the whole oil tank costing 150d.. haiz~ but mech gave a better alternative.. next time top up fuel dont top up full lor.. so wont reach the top wont spill over..

niway, pertol overflows from side black tank below, thats the same prob i have.. hmm~ might wan to check that out too.. or alternatively, just dont top up fuel to the max lor.. hee~

niway, have only heard of GPR pipes for DNA only.. never heard of leo for DNA..

yes true. what i heard, for DNA, GPR is the only one streetlegal. not sure why LV isn't. or perhaps LV can't fit DNA? haha.

for the spilling of petrol, somehow, at the opening of the tank there's a small hole to prevent overflowing. so when u pump fast enough, the petrol rises, hit that hole, and thats when all the excess petrol gets siphoned out.

my 2 cents.

true.. i ask the mech before, that hole will connect to this tube ending somewhere near the main stand.. there got one tube dangling.. thats for excess petrol..

the problem im facing is leaking at the main tank itself.. as in u need to take out the helmet storage compartment to see the oil tank below.. that where the leak is..

so for the azarr guy, need to confirm where the leak is than can know if its really big problem .. :thumb:
