If you do not have a restore disk, check if you have a hidden partition on your computer's hard drive - that hidden partition should contain the necessary files to restore your computer back to its factory settings. You press a key just before the Windows logo comes out to invoke this feature (eg F11)

If you don't have both, go back to the shop that sold you the laptop.

If the shop wants you to buy a new Windows license, tell them no thanks.

Go to the local computer manufacturer (eg. HP is at Alexandra, Acer is at Jurong IBP, etc...). The latter can supply you a new disk or help you activate the hidden partition.

Hi,

My laptop is crash with virus and i need to restore back to factory win7. Problem is i do have the restore disk or recovery disk.Any advise?

so have or dont?

1) get/steal/download/borrow a win7 install dvd with the correct version and install again. drivers can download online, but remember to get ur network/wireless card drivers before u format.

2) redbecon's method. it really depends on how the manuf program it, it could be during the boot, u press some F(F1-F12) key or search inside ur all program start menu.

2.1) in addition, usually u can create factory default disc which u can boot n restore to factory default.

3) virus cases don't usually need to reformat. there're a lot of tools online which can cure it.

just take care when u do factory reset/format. all ur data will be gone. backup ur data 1st, factory reset/format if u must, install a virus scanner n scan ur backup data.

Good luck. :)

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?
