[Overhaul] Yamaha X1

hi..juz wanna ask if anyone there cld recommend me a decent shop tt does a gd overhaul. i juz overhaul last sep n now gt white smoke coming out from my exhaust.. sumtimes at traffic light the engine juz die. i change EO every 1000km after overhaul but still problem arises.. maybe the previous shop didnt do a gd overhaul. hope u guys cld help me out aite. thx in advance to anyone n everyone .

bro mind telling me which shop you went to? Perhaps they did not do a good job or they use inferior parts.

 

I had the same problem a month ago. White smoke can be seen from my exhaust. So what I did was I send my bike to M1 Motoring and asked the mechanic to check and open up the block. I realized that my block has 2 deep scratches and I can still rebore the block 2 times more. Reboring will cost me about $130. However, I went to united Impex at Rowell Rd and bought a new genuine block and piston with the gaskets for $90. I went back to M1 and ask them to install for me at $40. SO total I paid $130 for a new block and piston and the white smoke is gone. So far so good right now.

 

Perhaps you might want to visit Planet or Bike Werks and ask them more about your bike.
