S'pore SBK got stolen in Msia! Need Urgent HELP

I am an In'l student in Malaysia. I still dunno, Y d F*** did I buy a S'pore bike?

It was in 2010 april 23rd, I got my '03 r1 4m a Malay private seller for about 25k

But he refused 2 give me d insurance papers.I clearly remember, insurance was valid till AUG 2010. finally my worst night mare became true,On june 12th 2010( when worldcup football kicked off) sme ******** nicked my bike, breaching all the security 4m my apartment.Since U all knw, how foreigners are treated in Msia,especially those who can't speak bahasa Malayu, Police had blew up my case into ashes! They r damn confident tat I will neva get back my BIKE . Nw my net option was to claim insurance...

when I called d previous owner, he straight fold lied to me tat, he misplaced insurance papers! Now WHAT SHALL I DO?

When you bought the bike, didnt you make your own insurance. or the are 2 names to it and you are the second rider??? Then, do you know the name of the insurance company. if you do, go there. second if you dont have the document of buying bike, go police also no use. no case. lastly go lta. see if the bike has problems in the first place like legal issue or was your name trnasferred in the first place. in case bike is a legal problem and your nakme is not on the bike, YOU ARE SCREWED. JUST TELL US THE SBK MEMBER NAME AND we can look out for him.

The bike is under my name. No kinda bad legal history has been reported yet! Btw I jus used my bike only less than 3 weeks! I was planning 2 have my own insurance! but b4 tat...

I don't get it. If the bike is under your name, so should the insurance. Why is it still under the seller's name?

 

Then again, if the bike is truly under your name, you can check with LTA on the insurance company by just logging on to onemotoring.com.sg. I lost my bike once in JB and I had no problems whatsoever with lodging the report since I went to the internet cafe beside the police station and printed out ownership details from the website. Next, I lodged a claim with my insurers and 4 months later, they paid out the claim. A few months later, my bike was found by the Malaysian police.

 

You have my sympathies regarding your loss but in future, make sure all your paperwork is in order before taking possession of the bike.

1) i think you got scammed in buying the bike.

 

2) bike is singapore registered, meaning not registered in malaysia and how can you purchase and transfer the ownership in malaysia. you have to come back to singapore authority to transfer ownership

 

3) if you are legal ownership, singapore authority needs your own insurance, or have your name added into previous owner's insurance. (you dont seem to have one)

 

4) so you have been riding the bike which is not legally under your name, and without any insurance coverage.

 

5) are you sure previous owner is genuine owner ? (since he didnt pass you any document)

worst case, it's stolen bike from singapore.

 

6) you cannot report stolen as, you dont have any legal document of purchase and ownership. you dont have insurance

 

7) previous owner is your only savior, try to talk to him, or report to police as cheating case, (selling stolen bike)

In LTA documents, its under my name as foreign passport. My bike's num was FBC 2046 R. Red colour. 2003 model R1.

1. Why your 03 R1 cost $25k? Got win sbk race b4??

 

2. How and where did you do the ownership transfer? Without insurance you have to be a non-driver owner. Other than that, you need your own insurance or sub-rider, both of which requires official paperwork. Did you do any?

 

3. Even if have insurance, third party only cover, won't cover theft. And if you have theft cover, they won't pay out $25k for an 03 R1! You have to go find out what insurance the bike was covered under and in who's name.

Your bike was lost on 12 Jun 2010, and you are trying to get help here on 14 Jun 2011.

 

If you have a singpass, go LTA portal, and immediately you will know if that bike is yours.

If bike is in your name then you must have bought your own insurance for it otherwise there is no way LTA will effect the transfer of ownership from the seller to you.

If that's the case, there is nothing to do with the seller because the seller would have cancelled his insurance for the bike, and get whatever refund from the unused portion of the premium.

Ist try to remember the ins company so that u can call them. Give them ur name/IC & they can give u a new cert.

If above is settle,make sure it is covered under thief then make a claim if not there will be no claim. Make sure do it before ur ins expiry.

That's kind of true. Anyway all I can say is good luck to TS.

There's are a lot of underground activities going on between the movement of "illegal" bikes between SG and MY. Where you get this illegal bikes movement? Figure out yourself.

 

In any case, you can look at the following poster and you will realize how much bikes cost in MY.
