petrol station has turtle wax. its pretty good. armorall is fine also.

car shampoo works fine for washing.

1st step is to wet the bike, dont force the water into the engine compartment. just a rough rinse over the major areas.

then you soap up a bucket of water with the shampoo and wipe it around the bike. start from the top of the bike then move on to the lower dirtier areas. do tires last as they tend to be the dirtiest.

rinse off the soapy water with another rinse of clean water. then move on to drying the bike with chamois cloth or microfiber cloth.

after this, wax up the bike. squeeze abit of the wax to a sponge and rub it gently around the part you wanna wax. it will leave a hazy film which is normal. leave it for around 10 mins then wipe it off with polishing cloth or DRY microfiber cloth.

ta-da, your bike is looking good.

try to make sure you use the right polish for the right parts. chrome plastic and real metal chrome use different polishes. real metal chrome use chrome polish, plastic chrome use normal wax can already.

My one bottle of armorall car wash lasted me more than a year.. wash my previous bike and current bike twice a month, plus share the car wash with frens when they come over my area to wash bike.. Still got 10% left..

i just use the excess tissue paper from Mcdonalds and KFC with the excess water from my water bottle hehe.

i notice alot of riders in sg dont really wash their bike often. I think out of 10, maybe 5 or 4 actually has a bike that looks clean.

maybe because no time or whatever. But i really cannot stand my bike being dirty. Even though it's just a phantom, everytime i see smudge on any of the chrome panels, i'll take out the polishing cloth and polish the chrome. so much so i do it during lunch hour. quite crazy.

invest in a good polishing cloth. not expensive also. giant has some for cheap.

for waxing part, i use my bare hand to coat the bike with wax. leave it dry. buff it off with quite a damp microfiber. becareful ur clothe is free of particle which might scratch ur bike.

Muc-off. my personal review here.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

that is some serious shine on ur cbr6!

my cbr6 is repainted so im not sure if that affects the shine level comparing to urs..

u said u left the muc-off overnight.

maybe i will try leaving my cloudy wax overnight before wiping it off.

well like i said, the spray returned the bike to the original high quality finish. i donno how well it will work on a repainted finish. but first time i tried, i wiped it off like 20 mins after application, and leaving overnight the second time definitely made a difference. probably several hours will do, my sense is that leftover water as well as undried spray residue interferes with the shine when buffing dry.

yeah lor.

we should organise a bike wash soon. everyone bring their own cleaning equipment and share. can exchange tips as well. I got bike shampoo to sponsor! just bought not long only, only use like 10 ml? armorall wash and wax. 2 in 1, not the best but gets the job done.

time to educate the people that washing bike is good! yes there are people who don't believe in washing bikes AT ALL.

How was a wash and wax shampoo compares to a wash, manual wax etc. thanks

hey hydher, i can tell you for one thing, 2 in 1 will not work as good as the specialised products.

i tried the armorall wash and wax, doesnt give me the shine that specialised wax gives. maybe because of the "hazing" period?

i bought it just as a shampoo. Still looking for a good wax product on my bike.

We should get one bike wash session started xD So you guys can teach me how to clean my bike lol.

I got a couple of products which doesnt really work for my own experiments, so if we manage to get some wash gathering going on, I could bring them and see if helps on your stock high quality paint and lacquer. Things like rubbing compound, polishing compounds etc.

Adventure.
