The whole COE system is to control the number of vehicles on the road of Singapore. In this case its motorcycles. Meaning that government sets a limit or quota for the number of motorcycles on the road. So, meaning that if quota is very little but there is huge demand in motorcycles, COE price goes up cos these people have to fight for the limited number of COE set for that year. So vice versa, if quota set is alot (meaning government allow more motorcycle on the road) then less competition to buy COE thus COE price drops. So the trend is dependent on the quota the government sets. Hope this isnt too wordy, anyways hope this helps!

This is the Govt story, the real reason for COE is to maintain their fat paychecks. That's it. If you planning to upgrade, don't pay COE lor, let the shop or the next owner do so. If lanlan need to use but got no money, 5 year COE but the bike confirm scrap..which is ok for an SP because its not really an antique.

If got RD500 and you pay 5 yr COE, I say burn in hell :)
