i'm sorry but its a damn fishy story with too many coincidences

 

even if it were true, what kind of 1d1ot plays by depressing the hand brake button and then pushing it down to un-brake, followed immediately by shifting the gear knob into drive?

 

and if thereafter none of the clowns knew exactly how a car worked, how the heck did they bring the car to a stop when the TP stopped them? or did the TP literally stop the car physically using their hands? coz auto cars wont ever come to a stop by itself unless foot brake is used or gear lever forcefully moved to 'N' or 'D'.

 

i'm far more inclined to believe the group in the car were deliberately trying to joy ride.

true, but models with that feature would have a button that you would have to depress in order to engage 'D'...

 

Back to the story, i find it very very interesting that so many things happened in sequential order, that would otherwise only happen in movies. i have never seen anyone step on the accelerator while searching the driver's seat for things. Simply because you dont have to be in the seat to search for things in the driver's seat...

 

just try a simple experiment, ask any of your friends who have no knowledge of driving to pick something up from the driver's side, i am very very sure they would be extra careful to not put their feet near any of the pedals... ppl with class 3 will naturally put their feet on the brakes...

 

So either the story is entirely made up, due the the detailed nature of writing, or a 1 in a million occurance... i persnally think it is bull... just me...

Hi I have a friend who is just got into trouble with the TP at Kallang Leisure Carpark. The story goes on like this. 4 of them were in a car. The driver left the car to go to the toilet as its urgency. The car has already started. Then the driver ask one of his friend to get his ciggarette infront of the driver seat. So his friend went inside and search for it. As he was searching for it, the other friend who sits at the passenger seat plays with the handlebreak and gear which leads to the D mode. (the car is auto btw) then the person who is looking for the ciggarette accidentally step on the accelerator. So the car accelerates foward and the person whose seating at the driver seat took control of the steering to avoid the collision. He got no knowledge of cars so he didnt know where is the break. So the car just move although he was just controlling the steering wheel. By then 2 TPs stopped the car and was reffered to the Traffic Police headquarters because he has no class 3 licence. This is the statement that is made by the accidental driver. He was unaware of the person behind is playing with the gears and have not mention this in his statement to the I.O as the person just told him after the accidental driver met the I.O. The person who plays with the gear has yet to write his statement as the I.O will contact them soon. The real driver whose in the toilet was not put into any charges. So the accidental driver is put into 3 charges which is no class 3 licence, no owners consent and driving without insurance and maybe false statement as the I.O mention that the car wont move unless someone touches the gear. But then the other person only tell his mistakes after the accidental driver had told his statement. What are your thoughts?

 

This is like a Criminal Law exam question.

I think cannot run already. Most cars now have the safety feature which requires brakes to be engaged before changing gears. Also, if he was searching for the cigg, he wouldn't need to touch the steering wheel. The fact that they were able to manuever in the carpark enough to get caught already show that they are messing with the car.

 

Beware of immature friends, I never leave my friends in the car with the engine on, especially those playful ones. Tom **** and Harry also know its wrong to be driving your friends car/bike without permission, its not a toy car or a bicycle.

First question...

Before moving forward, the vehicle should go into reverse gear and moving backward and even go to neutral before drive mode...

 

Lastly any person in the driver seat WITH the ENGINE RUNNING regardless moving or not moving vehicle MUST have A VAILD CLASS 3...

 

Finally, ask your fren to wash his/her backside get ready for court mention... Hopefully He/She has a solid background(If you know what I meant in Singapore)

The best charge would be to send ALL 4 of them to clean any auto cars ( both the exterior and interior) for at least 12months for free.

 

That would teach them not to play with cars, especially the auto ones for good.

TS, the judge wasn't born yesterday. High chance he will be able to use his head like any good man here and identify the dubious nature of the statement. Besides, unless the accused can show enough evidence he is pretty much wasted. The deed was done and w/o a way to show it was unintentional, the judge may feel his intelligence is insulted by cooking a fairytale story like this.

Only if the car is already in motion. Stationary auto cars, no matter how old. Do not move from stationary unless brake was released. Only Toyota Camry has the tendency to roll back from slopes when its brake lever was released.

Has this last person, go make a statement at the TP to insist that it was because of his itchy hand, thus the other friend has to steer the car and have both him and the friend licence kangtong and banned for driving for 5 years lor.

 

What kinda friend is he, to only let one friend take the blame?
