Someone called? haha...

I'm in New York, back on 21 Oct, Friday! If there's a ride on Friday night or Saturday, I will join you guys... :)

I love your Horlan rides!

Great, see you next Friday - will send event details via PM within the next few days.

While we prepare the next set of training materials for this Friday... here are some efforts to improve visibility. Stock headlamps are inefficient and are typically invisible amongst a sea of cars factory-fitted with HIDs. With some new experimental bulbs from Drastik Kustoms, the score is now settled.

The new bulbs drain less power, more than 4x brighter (for the double barreled type) and are compatable with pretty much all stock 2B headlamps.

Awesome, miss the Hayabusa! Need to add me on facebook though, as all 40+ of us no longer visit the forums often. A lot of 'special research projects' being done there. Oh and at least 3 more outings this week. SMS me if you don't have my address.

At Black Swan, we bikers seek to understand the way of riding through methodology that will allow the bikes to learn how vehicles move in Singapore.

In contrast to the usual stereotypical "Ignorant driver" and "Reckless rider", our outings have mostly prove it to be otherwise. It is mostly due to the small part of the driving/riding population that causes the perspective of people to be changed for the worse. We seek to improve that attitude and riders should realize that the world is a better place when you decided to become a better person on the road.

Suffice to say that many riders and drivers are being pretty selfish. Refusing to switch on signals, cutting into lanes of others, side-swiping a fellow road user, tailgating. These are few of the bad habits cultivated by the general population through extended period of riding and/or driving. Some of these attitudes are also shown in this forum whereby riders frequently advocates of not blocking their way if they are much faster than you, even though you may be riding at the maximum legal speed limit on lane 2/3/4 instead of 1.

Safety issues are a major concern here rather than encouraging performance addled junkies who seek the thrill of riding wearing slippers, shorts and singlets. Safe riding is a basic concept that we embrace for the sake of better riding, a more enjoyable ride rather than to focus of every nameless road user who might take "advantage" of you.

From there, we develop techniques as we have our regular outings together. Big or small convoys, there are simply not many hiccups or problems. We learn, grow and share our experiences for other to benefit, developing a cohesive group which bonds together with our various riding expedition and more recently, generic outings which may or may not include riding for its main purpose.

Many of us have benefited from the experiences in the group and the efforts of those who truly involved themselves without any expectations of returns. Simply put it, we are a group of friends who enjoys riding without bringing harm to ourselves and to those who cares for us. That is why we developed horlanning as a way of riding.

I'm a Tutor! Proud to be one!

With 2012 comes new convoy management techniques. No longer do company commanders do 100% of the route navigation; these "centurions" are better employed as a mobile reserve force stationed at the rear of the column in order to oversee the convoy's progress and evaluate traffic conditions. Just like in a historical legion, you -do- have hastati and principe to move ahead to scout & fix position respectively ahead of the main force.

Also, simple air combat techniques are practised, such as leader-wingman philosophy and operating in multiple mutually-supporting 'squadrons'. Command and control should in any case be advanced to the point it is entirely dynamic and tactical, with no micromanagement required.

In other news, the TA200 tuning shop has been improved with community contribution. So riders can think and simulate engine configurations before tuning, not just rely on trial and error.

Hey Pandora, i just read your opening.

Firstly, very interesting indeed which showcase and in smiliar ways to three forces of tactical display and formations.

I can see and sense your effort, time and research and salute you for that.

I am very interested to view and join your outing, but i deem myself as a newbie as i feel that i still have lots to learn from far more experience riders.

As the Chinese saying goes there's always a mountain higher than the other.

Kindly pardon me for my mistakes in advance and looking forward to your favourable reply with thanks.
