LTA on Harley Davidson Exhaust

hey what do you guys think of this random thought:

 

have special days where vehicles in Singapore could run loud pipes but must buy a special license from LTA for use on that particular day...other days caught with loud exhaust normal fines apply kinda thing?

Doesn't sound feasible though, for those who don't wanna pay fine on 'normal' days would have to keep switching pipes. Unless they don't ride on 'normal' days.

 

Anyway do you think the hype about LTA clamping down on illegal mods is gone? They appeared when its time to secure a higher bonus and maybe now its back to normal?

serious meh? TP and lta duties are very clearly defined now. So it's quite a surprise to me that TP would still do dat. Oh well guess that fella damn sway meet super Siao on

do not be mistaken. It's because of the rain. Lta n Harley riders alike don't like to ride in the rain. Somemore so many harley riders kena caught some just give up n sell off or keep at home don't ride because not Shiok anymore. Or most have changed back to stock to avoid being caught n fined. Dats y u don't hear so much people get caught now. Fine is going up coming 2012 so u can bet they will continue catching. Nothing to do with bonus lah...smaller community getting even smaller and smaller

There's none. Only Akrapovic for touring models. Nothing else for the moment. LTA has not provided any public available information on it's website with regards to pipes mod. Whatever is shown in one motoring or the LTA website are nothing but vague descriptions of what they MIGHT approve or what they WILL not approve.

sorry to hear that. u don't have to pay for the inspections. Just the fines.

any chance of HD going for inspection and passing? im using khrome werks exhaust, they asked me to go down for inspection and if rectify the errors in 7 days time.

i usually ride at night only. if i am caught at TP/LTA, I understand I will be asked to go inspection the next day right?

 

Can i quickly change to my stock pipe before i go for inspection?

 

The fine can only be issued to me if inspection failed right?

from what i heard, they will take photos of which ever parts they think are illegal on the spot. correct me if i'm wrong.

yes correct. they will take photo of your exhaust. you need to go to inspection with the same exhaust they caught you with. no point trying to change.

Even if u change back they will still have photos of ur illegal exhaust. U will still receive the fine.

Thinking of swapping back stock muffler.

 

Do I have to loosen the header pipe? Or just need to undo the bolts at the muffler side?

1. You just borrowed from your friend pipe to try

2. Thats why you are riding with the illegal pipe at night

3. After testing, you will switch it back.

 

Of course only for first timer.

it came with 49 states so y not? a stock 93 would sound worlds apart from later stock models.

I don't understand. How come a harley that is brought into singapore and made legal on singapore roads still kenna summon for the loud pipes?
