like any machinery, there's a recommended servicing hours/mileage.

 

every 5K km, normal servicing of replacing E.O., filter & etc; 50K km top overhaul; 100K km Full overhaul & etc..

 

it is recommended that when the damper has been used for approx 30K km, to go for refurbishing.
