Question: GT Ride Clockwise or anti-clockwise?

Hi. Need advise on route planning for a 1-Day Trip to Golden Triangle area.

Start at hotel in Chiang Rai, 0700hrs and ending about 1700hrs.

 

Would it be better for a clockwise trip that begins with Mae Salong or anti-clockwise to GT 1st?

I did the Anti clockwise loop from Pai side, staying 1 night at Mae Hong Son and 1 night at a little village. Reason being for anti-clockwise would be to enter Doi Inthanon from the back, bypassing the entrance and 400 Baht entrance fee. hehe
